Their states; the RED ones? receive more per dollar, than they give,as a recent New York Times article documents?even as fiscally conservative lawmakers complain about deficit spending?their constituents don?t want to give up the Social Security checks, Medicare benefits, and earned income tax credits that provide a safety net for the struggling middle class.?

This has been a long known deal that the Right wingers always love to overlook.

The fact is the only 2 Red states that paid their own way was Texas & FL. The rest are all freeloaders with Alaska being the worst.

FL went blue in the last election so that leaves only Texas as the only Red state that can pay it's own way. The rest of the red states are all subsidized by taxes coming from Blue states.

Right Wingers want to end welfare so I say lets end state welfare as well and make them pay for their own shit. I bet they would welcome paying welfare when they realized how much their state taxes would skyrocket if Blue states weren't paying the red states welfare checks.

The simple fact is the bigger the population the more liberal it usually is in the US. The more backwoods & rural usually means it's Conservative and Republican.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that the most populated states in the country are blue states as people have to get used to living around a lot more people. This makes them more liberal and accepting of others.

The more rural the area the more it turns to "good ole boy" networks with churches being the major social events with outsiders that aren't in the same social groups being the "other" people.. This is why most of the less populated states are Conservative and lean to the far right.

This is why most Conservatives tend to be less accepting of others that aren't like them and are almost never willing to agree to meet half way or accept any sort of change. If they were in Pakistan they would likely be Taliban..
