What is a good 27inch monitor? Which brand/type

I tried a cheaper one recently and it was total crap. For static work it was fine but games and movies was horrible. It simply couldn't handle it.
What screen can? And i'm not looking for 2k screens. Just a good screen that won't fuck up when things move in high resolution.

I just bought this one: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ls_o04_s02_i00

I'm unhappy with it because the resolution is no better than my 25 inch. I should have bought this one: http://www.amazon.com/HP-ZR2740w-27-...7071498&sr=1-2

I use remote desktop and Team Viewer heavily. I want to tile four instances of remote desktop on my screen. With that larger resolution, I should be able to tile four instances of 800x600.

I don't recall if my Dells are 27s or 30s.. but I paid about 1200 each a year ago and recently saw them on sale for 9 something. Work great and output 24xxXsomething resolution. I'll post the model number next I'm in the office. I run two from my laptop docking station.

I'm not gonna pay 3k just for some monitors. There has to be something in the $500 area that works as well, right?

When you try a $500 range and give up, give these monitors a go:

FORIS home entertainment monitors come in 23-and 24.1-inch sizes

Maybe you misread the title of the topic.

Then check out the ColorEdge or FlexiScan. I use the ColorEdge303W, exceptional depth and colors, shocking quality of image and film viewing. Made in Japan. 5 years guarantee.

As much as I love Apple products, their monitors and any other I checked, are uncomparable with Eizo.

I don't mind spending a 1000 on 1 screen but i'm not gonna spend 2k on the 2 side screens which i rarely will use. And i'm also not gonna buy different brands.

No joke, I picked up a Yamakasi Catleap 27", they claim they are 27" apple displays in a different shell, I honestly cant tell the difference. The ebay seller got it from Korea to MN in 3 business days via express mail. I only Paid $309 total with ship. Nothing in a store will touch it for that price.

I'm so happy i started this thread. I just ordered the same monitor but from the brand "Crossover". Same thing, just slightly more expensive because the design looks a bit better and the stand is way better than the other brands. Other than that it's exactly the same. I paid $340 including shipping. I'll probably pay another 50 here for importing it. $390 for a monitor that basically is the same as a $1000 Apple one. Not a bad deal.
If you don't care about the design and a cheap stand you can get a Shimian for $280 dollars. Crazy...
