Will the "citizens" get to vote on whether or not we go to war with Iran, or whether or not we fund problematic countries like Israel, or whether or not we want our tax dollars used against us in the funding of a police state?

I don't blame the "citizens" - especially not the poor ones that weren't born with silver spoons in their mouths.

I think your website is making to much money and you're obviously stealing that money from the poor. we need to take most of the funds and redistribute those funds to the people that need/want the money...

ever see that vid where the guys went to a school and chatted up all the 'big business is fucking everybody' students? the interviews said lets take some of you GPA and give it some underprivileged kid... kids that have to work or don't have time to study... hehehhe...

those fucking collage smart asses cried like babies about that... not fair not fair... then the interviews says 'hey, a 3.4 is as good as 4.0 right'

I was 100% disabled in 2000 due to work injries... I lost EVERYTHING. I was offered welfare and food stamps. I turned it down and started a content biz... so telling me people can't get out and earn isn't really going to work out that well is it?

there is always an excuse for failure.

Without bothering to point out the error of that comment, what does that have to do with anything? The only thing I can guess is that you have no idea what the topics are.

Tonight: domestic policy
October 16: foreign and domestic policy
October 22: foreign policy

So, how does religion fall into these categories?

I have no idea BD... just what the peeps I speak with from out of the country tell me. I avoid video news and only scan headlines on the web and read what I think is interesting.

personally I don't care for Obama as I think is dishonest and hates 'whitey' however that doesn't mean he doesn't have a few good ideas for getting the US back on track, but then again with all the bipartisan BS not much anyone can do...

I do believe both candidates will resort to 'show biz activity' during the debate though.... "let's get the language down and we'll sort out the reality later"

There will be no winner and the loser will be the American people. The moderator will not ask any significant questions, the candidates will not directly examine their opponent's answers or have any kind of constructive dialog - because back in 1998 the two political parties took control of the debate format and locked down the rules so that neither candidate can 'lose.'

It was so underhanded and sleazy that the National League Of Women Voters refused to sanction the debates or be involved with them any longer after decades of overseeing the fairness of REAL debates. They made the correct assertion that the debates are now a joint attempt to defraud the American public, put on by two political parties as a stage show rather than a real discussion of what should be done to improve our nation.

Quote:
"It has become clear to us that the candidates' organizations aim to add debates to their list of campaign-trail charades devoid of substance, spontaneity and honest answers to tough questions," Neuman said. "The League has no intention of becoming an accessory to the hoodwinking of the American public."

I would suggest traveling to other countries rather than rely on the opinion of a few. You think we are more religious than Israel, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq . . . anywhere in the middle east? How about we are the most Christian based nation? That I would agree with.

Did you know that it was legal in Germany to ask what religion a prospective employee is? Did you know that they could refuse (and likely will) if you answer wrong? I was surprised as well when looking over employment applications. Better be a Catholic in some villages.

Yeah, so what?

I also don't take welfare, I also don't get food stamps, I don't receive public housing assistance, I'm not on the dole in any way.

That's not the argument I'm having.

If the government wants to spend money to help the poor, that's fine by me - it's when the government squanders the money on the rich, causing the economy to collapse, and then people are convinced they should blame the poor for the problems, that's my problem with your position. That's my problem with Fox Noise, and that's my problem with right wing radio.

and I agree with spending the money wisely HOWEVER giving money to a person that has never had a job won't get a job and demands a big screen TV... nope...

Obama won't zing back. He'll just stand there letting the facts speak for themselves, keeping his composure.

Romney will sweat bullets all night. He will probably have the shits, worried about any squeakers that may be picked up by the microphones.

After its over Fox News and the Gop will congratulate him on the supposed beat-down. He'll go home, kick the help around for some stress relief, go to bed still sweating, worried, unsure. Sleep will not come to him for some time.

Obama will go home, give his wife Michele a President-Kennedy-quality shag, share a blunt and pass out, happy as fuck.

Obama 2012!

No, I don't think ANYONE should be drug tested - I believe in actual freedom.

Bottom line: if you?re a Fortune 500 company or a member of the wealthiest 1%, you?re getting welfare, and a hell of a lot of it.

If you?re one of the dreaded entitlement crowd ? which, if you include social security and Medicare, is the vast majority of the remaining 99% -- you?re getting chicken feed, and the Republicans want to take even this meager sustenance away.

Let?s run the numbers.

Corporate Subsidies: We spend $59 billion on social welfare programs, but more than $92 billion on corporate subsidies. According to the Environmental Law Institute, fossil fuel industries alone get more than $70 billion in subsidies, with most going to the oil and gas sector. Yeah, we certainly can?t afford to deprive Exxon of its record profits just to give money to needy kids.

Sheltering Off-Shore Profits: Corporations are given $58 billion a year in tax breaks for ?deferred? taxes for off shore profits. Yep. Sure want to encourage US companies to hide profits off-shore. Can you say ?job creators??

Capital gains: Rich folks make the majority of their money in the form of dividends and capital gains, which are taxed at only 15%. This allows them to avoid some $59 billion in taxes per year.

Carried interest: Hedge fund managers avoid at least $2.1 billion in taxes a year. This sweet deal ? not available to the ninety-nine percenters, by the way ? lets hedge fund managers and other selected fat cats take what amounts to ordinary wages and have them taxed as if they were capital gains. So instead of being taxed at 35% (39.5% if we eliminate Bush?s tax cuts for the rich) it?s taxed at 15%. Ayn Rand would be proud. Thomas Jefferson, not so much. This amount ? $2.1 billion ? is roughly equivalent to the entire budget for the Administration on Aging. Wouldn?t want to deprive millionaire and billionaire hedge fund managers of their windfall just to help a lot of old geezers.

Bank Bailouts: Then there?s the $700 billion bank bailout ? to rescue banks from problems they themselves created. Yes it got paid back; and yes, we had to do something. But the reason this money was little more than welfare was because the banks got to do what they wanted to with it. It could have come with strings ? we could have insisted that they write down mortgages to market value or allowed refinancing at lower interest rates or longer amortization periods. We could even have given the money directly to stressed homeowners, instead of the banksters who caused the problem. Any of these approaches would have prevented defaults, slowed ? or even reversed ? the precipitous declines in real estate values, and given low and middle income consumers some ability to consume, which, at the end of the day is the real ?job creator.? And we most certainly could have insisted that banks money loan out the money to small businesses and home buyers. (source)

This doesn't make sense to me. You were 100% disabled, unable to work, had no income, turned down all assistance.... Yet somehow created your own business? That's amazing. Can you tell me how you supported yourself while you had no income?

I am part of the forty-seven percent Romney has no interest in. I collected benefits from the government for seventeen years of my life. I also have a student loan from the government, and a VA loan for my first house.

Is that a hand up, or a hand out?

I had a settlement from the lawsuit against paramount that allowed me to pay rent for a bit and find a client and start shooting... made $640 the first month did 60K my first year.

I decided to stop shooting in 2009. xmass 2009 I had an empty 2 bedroom apartment and $100. had to sell all my gear to buy food and drive models for the agencies...

some people are earners Richard, some aren't. doesn't matter what opportunities or hand outs you give them.

some people are earners Richard, some aren't. doesn't matter what opportunities or hand outs you give them.
So someone handed you a pile of money and you had just enough common sense to open up a business. This doesn't make you an earner, it makes you lucky.

You are 100% right: In 4 years Obama has not addressed any of that and it all has continued with no slowdown.

I'm showing that the govt. spends FIVE HUNDRED BILLION a year. That's a half a trillion dollars a year on welfare.
And I just read a liberal guy crunching those numbers down to make them look better.
He squished it down to "only" 191 billion a year in actual money and services handed out to the poor.

What a ridiculous question.

Anybody on here who has actually busted their ass and made something for themselves is ridiculed. A definite sign of the time in our sorry ass society.

LOL!

He was "lucky" to get hurt so bad that he was 100% disabled? Yeah boy! What a lucky, lucky guy.

If only everyone could get hurt really badly and then struggle to regain themselves and take a settlement and open a business...then everybody would be rich!

What the fuck are you thinking man?

What am I thinking? I'm thinking he wasn't 100% disabled if he was able to open up his own business. I have a friend who is 100% disabled and there are days when he can't get out of bed no less sit in front of a computer for an hour a day.

He's making it sound like he's noble because he opened up his business "without government help". But without that lawsuit he would have... nothing.

Perhaps you should educate yourself about WC Law, then maybe you would understand what it means to be 100% disabled. It does not mean you are in a wheelchair or bedridden.

I was going to post my own sob story but you know what? Nobody gives a shit. Just put it this way..

The first abused government program to fix is the IRS tax code. Once you repair that giant sucking sound of billions leaving the country through loopholes, then you can come and talk about taking food out of the mouths of poor working families.

Don't be blinded by a cleverly orchestrated political campaign to make poor people the scapegoat. It's been done and people should know better. Class warfare.

lots of people get handed money Richard. I'm an earner. with a kid in grade school and no health ins, no bank account and no job a 'pile of money' (20K) isn't really that much is it?

when I first went digital I would be up all night trying to fix the images in PS so I could sell the stuff and buy food for the family... I didn't realize how fucking easy I had it...

Sorry but they don't 'offer' (whatever that means) food stamps and welfare to people who just collected a 20k settlement. Not to mention a 100% disability would bring in a hell of a lot more than 20k, I collected 26k in 1992 for a 6% workmans comp disability.

Looks like Obama already won! lol

People think that a guy getting hurt and making his way back and being successful is a bad thing.

Now if he had just said "fuck it" and started living on welfare? I guess he would have been one of the good guys. heh-heh
Fucking amazing.

Or perhaps not.

Like I said, I have a friend who is 100% disabled by both the US Army and the US Post Office. He is not in a wheel chair or bed ridden, although some days he has problems functioning as an adult. He drives, has his own house, lives alone. Some days he is fine. But there is no way he'll ever be able to work again, be it his own business or as an employee.

Just a big distraction from the fact that both of the parties are the problem...

Have fun arguing back and forth about nothing.

Too bad they won't let Gary Johnson participate...we'd actually have some real truth-telling going on.

Your right. Lots of people get handed money. All those people on welfare and unemployment... They are just waiting until that big pay day.

Explain to me how you went from 100% disabled to suddenly being able to work full time (plus)?

I agree 100%

Obama is no different than Bush and Romney is no different than Obama. It's just business as usual.

It's funny that people say Mitt is some awesome debater. He went up against a bunch of circus clowns during the primaries and to be honest I was hardly impressed. I don't think Obama is good, and anyone can win, but this is the only other debate I have seen from Mitt:

I'm not saying it's a bad thing that he got hurt and climbed up out of his hole - Good for him. I've been there and done that myself.

My thing is that he's saying "he's an earner" and that he didn't need "government help" to crawl out of his hole. Seems to me like he considers himself an "earner" and not "lazy and on welfare". The only difference between him and someone on welfare is that someone on welfare doesn't have $20k to start a business with.

Obama is good with a teleprompter
He's gotten better without it
He'll take credit for killing Osama, without mentioning the Seals, like in his speech.
He'll say Obamacare is going to save billions, even thought according the CBO, 30 million will still be without healthcare, including 6 million that will have to pay a tax to stay out of it, raising 8 billion a year in taxes?
http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/...ealth-care-ta/
Then he'll talk about the unemployed, longest time above 8% for any president since the depression.
Romney's plan I hope is different, because Obama's ain't working too good!
Romney's health plan for Mass. is working pretty good, maybe he knows something about healthcare?
Anyways, going to watch them and keep from laughing at the lies
