Robbie, straight from Gary Johnson

There is no Libertarian case for Mitt Romney

Quote:
‎"...the last time we had Republicans in charge of the Executive and Legislative Branches, we ended up with a trillion dollar unfunded entitlement, a massive increase in the Federal education bureaucracy, and two wars that we not only didn?t pay for but which coincided with tax cuts which is about the fiscally dumbest thing you can do."

I agree with him 100% on that.

Republicans AND Democrats have been in charge for the last century.

And look where we are at now.

That's why I'm not voting for Romney. I'm voting for Johnson.

I keep seeing Robbie preferring Romney and just wanted him to see Gary Johnson's latest post. It's a pretty strong statement - "There is no Libertarian case for Mitt Romney"

I might even vote for Gary Johnson, but living in an important swing state (Florida) I think it's smarter to vote for the lesser of two evils. If I lived in Nevada, I might vote for Johnson too.

The last person I'd vote for in 2012 is Romney.

You don't think it's a little bit different in swing states?

No you don't. You just keep seeing me point out that Obama's economic ideas are failures. And that the ideas Romney put out are pretty much right on the money.

Unfortunately for Romney...he also is in favor of continuing the giant military we have. And is also just as bloodthirsty as Bush and Obama.

He also won't change one single thing in the drug laws. And he won't put an end to us being searched like criminals everytime we go to the airport.

Nope...Romney is no good.
Obama is worse.

Neither are acceptable to me. That's why I registered as a Libertarian last week and I intend to vote that way in both local and federal elections on Nov. 6th.

Nope, I'm in a "swing state" too.

You should vote for the guy you believe should be president. If you think it's Obama then go that way.

But if you REALLY believe it's Johnson, then vote for Johnson.

You're vote really will be "wasted" if you don't.

Say whatever you want Robbie but you're constantly anti-Democrat, and making excuses for the Republican candidates all the while professing to be strictly Libertarian.

I like Gary Johnson. I like Jill Stein too. I think this means you're mostly "fiscally conservative", while "socially tolerant" is more important to me, in Gary Johnson's words. So the worst choice for me is Romney.

Whatever Brujah. I know what I think and what I am going to do.

I do NOT like Obama. I voted for him in 2008, and I feel let down hard.

And I never "professed" to be strictly Libertarian. I've never been strictly anything before. I voted for Clinton, Bush, and Obama.

But now? I've come to the conclusion that my experiences in life and what I am seeing with my own two eyes....I have "evolved" into a Libertarian.

You sure do seem to be defending the Democrats awful hard yourself there bud. And worrying about who I'm voting for.

You yourself just said that you want to vote for Johnson, but you are going to compromise your own principles and vote for Obama.
Doesn't give you much weight to criticize my political decision in my opinion.

no i dont and I will tell you why

IF people didnt think as you do then the Reps and the Dems have to move towards more Libertarian platforms to appeal to the independent voters and get the needed votes. As long as they can control that indy vote with the don't waste your vote propaganda it nullifys it and you get forced into voting for someone who didnt EARN your vote as they should have.

The Libertarian Party Scares the Reps and Dems to death, thats why they have regulated them OUT of the debates.

I'm not "socially tolerant".
I am socially LIBERAL.

And on some fiscal issues I side with Democrat positions as the best solution. On most fiscal issues however I go with the Republicans (as do the majority of business owners)

Am I somehow a bad person for all this? I'm confused as to why you are singling me out.

Shouldn't be too surprising as I already stated the socially tolerant aspects are more important to me, so they have priority. I'll be another Florida vote against Romney, more than anything else. Johnson doesn't have a chance in Florida anyway, but Romney does.

I only singled you out in this thread because I knew you were a Gary Johnson supporter and this was his latest post. lol. No other reason. I have nothing against you Robbie. I think you're alright. Gary Johnson doesn't use "socially liberal" he prefers "socially tolerant" so that's why I used that term instead.

My thought is I don't have the right to "tolerate" other people's personal behavior. They should be able to do ANYTHING they want as long as they don't harm anyone else.

And what do you mean I'm "alright"? Goddamnit Brujah, how are we supposed to have a bro-mance if you don't think I'm GREAT!

If I ever typed that....I must have been drunk out of my mind. Robert Plant is THE voice. And what the fuck he is thinking by not doing a Zep reunion world tour is beyond me.

Robert Plant is THE voice indeed! So glad we could agree on that! At least they have a Celebration DVD coming out from their last tour.

Robert Plant WAS the voice. He hasn't been able to sing like that for years.

Which is the exact reason why there is not and will not be a Led Zeppelin reunion anything.

Gary Johnson on the other hand, has my vote here in NY.

I just hope you understand that Jimmy Page is a goddamned genius and the guitar "orchestras" he put together and different tunings on the Zep albums are masterpieces of guitar playing.

Once you concede that point...THEN we can hold hands.

Definitely, but neither is as good as the whole, they are hard rocks version of Lennon/McCartney.

Agreed. I've enjoyed their work separately, but there is a "magic" when they perform together.

Have you seen the doc it might get loud ? Jimmy Page was just this gentle soul who truly loved music. i was listening to npr and i heard something i wanted to share with you. i guess this week is the 50 anv of James Bond so they are talking about different things James Bond . they interviewed the guy who created the James Bond theme guitar riff, a signature riff in the history of music and he got paid $50 to do it. lol in the late 90's they started giving him residuals for the song. he created the riff with a surf guitar sound. and he showed how they wanted it and how he decided to approach made it unique.
