How Do You Upload Large Files via FTP ... - GoFuckYourself.com

... without a timeout.

I've tried 2 different ftp clients, tried uploading from the browser, tried switching to passive mode but none works.

The file size is 47MB.

Any help would be appreciated.

Make sure your router firmware and network adapter driver is up to date.

47 mb is not a large file, we transfer files of 4-5 gb size regularly

also while the transfer is running, there is no reason for a timeout

i had the same issue,

Do this :

Install Filezilla.,
edit>> settings >>connection>>overview>>
timeout in seconds>> 99
Maximum no. of retries >> 99
delay between failed login attempts>> 20

now hit the thanks button.

.zip (compress) the file, FTP the file, then extract once uploaded. There are simple php scripts you can call from the browser to initiate the extraction or login to the server control panel and extract from there.

Maybe you should go here first http://speedtest.net and be sure your upload speed is ample, (at least 1 MB) because 47 MB is not a big file by today?s standards.

Maybe your ISP is throttling uploads?

I use CORE FTP without problems on GB+ files

Thanks for all the replies everyone.

My firmware is up to date and I checked my upload speed which was fine too.

It turns out that filezilla was the answer (hitting 'thank you' button now).

CuteFTP and FTP Explorer both caused problems, timeouts and errors. Filezilla transferred the file easily and much faster than any other ftp client.
