buy low, sell high
or do what a friend of mine does, he buys dead hard drives, and sends them to the manufactor for an RMA, gets new ones sealed in the bag and sells them for retail..
he got a few dead 80gigers for like 25bucks each, sold them 50bucks under retail...
nice huh?

do some marketing research. Look at other peoples auctions that are selling what you want to sell. Rip them off.

My company worked with the Fiesta Bowl HQ this year. This dude that works for me managed to horde like 30 bags of fiesta bowl tostitos snack size, and a bunch of foam nacho hats. He went onto E-Bay looked at all of the other chip and hat auctions, blatantly stole the text and images, and had his own sweet auctions. He made bank too. like 35 bucks for a little bag of fiesta bowl tostitos.

Does Hotlinking piss off E-Bayers?

I sold an old Rolls Royce on there for $50K. It was owned by Judy Garland, and got two celeb car collectors into a bidding war over it. The guy who won wired cash next day, car sight unseen.

Pretty amazing. Here's the pic of it.

I sell all my old computer gear on there also and it goes like lightning if you price things fairly.

I have a friend who started his coin business buying and selling on e-bay and he's now a millionaire from it. He also made a killing selling beanie babies when that was hot.

Isn't it a pain to ship all the stuff out? Don't you have to go to the post office everyday and stand in line for like an hour?

Yup that was big business on Ebay for a while. Selling a trend/fad is a good way to make some bucks from Ebay

You gotta pay the cost to be the boss
If you want your money, stand in line! or have fedex come pick it up for a tidy amount

yeah if you got set in early enough it was a good deal

My wife easily clears $10k a month from ebay style auctions.... the key is getting good placement, since there are tons of people selling stuff now....it was much easier 4yrs ago

Just work on the key words you use in your titles....its all about placement now

As well setting reserves and pics play a big part of selling......I think the game is a little played out now but you can still make money on it thats for sure.

What a lot of people do is sell clothing, they go to a store when clothes are at the end of their season and dirt cheap in price, then hold onto them until that season kicks back in, then sell them on EBAY and make a killing.

That's kind of an investment though, having to buy all of the stuff, then sit on it for 6 months until you can sell it again. Might be more hassle than you wanna go through.

a few years ago you could buy things like video cards, when they first come out, in bulk and sell them on ebay. sometimes you would get more than what the card retails for. not sure if it would work anymore because there's so many people selling on ebay and there's not enough buyers to pump the price up.

I used to sell a ton of Videos on Ebay but they have made it hard to sell adult items. I now use
NaughtyBids and it does pretty well.

If anyone else has any Auction sites that work well please post in here.

Thanks

I didn't read the whole thread to see if someone already answered but I started on ebay with a few bucks. I sold $5000 to $7000 a week regularly until I quit. Profit was around $2000 to $4000 a week so there is definately money there if you do your research.

The problem with selling on ebay is that you have to keep selling to keep making money. Your time could be better spent building income in ways that take less of your time and are more long term.

On the other hand, if you just need fast cash or if you need to pay off some debt or something like that, it's a great solution.

I saw a segment on some show about a gal and her family that sold clothes.. She modeled the stuff, Hubby did photo work, mom & dad did the shipping, etc..

She did so well that some top clothing stores started paying her to model their stuff and sell it for them for a cut of the profit..

Go to flea markets and yard sales and buy up all sorts of stuff.. someone will want it..

Do the dolls and racing stuff.. People go for that stuff..

No matter what you have.. if it's anything at all, someone somewhere will want it.. ya might not get just what ya want, but you should make a little.. just back up your word.. develop a reputation of being a good guy and you could do well..
