The idea that Nixon would have had a back-up moon landing tape made is plausible -- Nixon was the sort of slimeball that would have done that.

In certain cases they had better technology in the past than we do now, we could do with finding out exactly how how they went to the moon in the 1960's and use the information to help us go there again in 2013.

I don't doubt for a second that we landed on the moon. But the film that the public was shown was very likely "faked". There's too much evidence to support this.
