advice needed :) what happened to my wordpress backend?

It must be some server/hosting issue as this happened only with wp blogs hosted at 1 host of the few I host on.

http://img526.imageshack.us/img526/9030/adminareawp.jpg

Issues:
1. all the buttons (blod, italic, align...) are gone
2. when mouse over on dashboard items ("pages" in this instance) drop down does not pop to the right as it is supposed to
3. When trying to upload picture/media instead of pop up window it opens in full page (not a problem) and it is impossible to upload media as when I choose picture and click "insert into post" - nothing happens.

Thanks

Looks like Javascript may be borked. Maybe the JQuery load failed? Are you blocking Google's CDN in any way? This is just a stab in the dark.

Sounds like it may be something on your end to be quite honest. Did your Java drivers blow out? Try reinstalling Java and then log back in. It may fix the issue.

Also, maybe reset your browser's security settings to default.

Well everything works fine when I log in into any other wp blog that is hosted on another host. Only blogs that are hosted on this specific host has this issue.

And the thing is that I did not do anything to them or to the server so its like "out of nowhere" thing.

View the source, look for a line that seems like a URL for JQuery, or something similar, and click that URL. Does it give you a 404 (or something similar), or does it show you some Javascript? In fact, go ahead and paste the <head> stuff here, if you feel comfortable with that.

Also, verify that your JQuery (or associated Javascript libraries, I am just ASSUMING they're JQuery) are readable by the web-server user.

Is the user set to have the visual editor disabled? Look under user account for: Disable the visual editor when writing and see if it is checked.

It's weird because it is a javascript issue and so it must be client-side.
Or the browser can't load the javascript resource which is located on your host.
I should read carefully the host settings.

I want to tell that one more time - its not my side because I have no issues with all the blogs hosted on any other host except this one. And all blogs hosted on this particular host started to give me an issue (out of nowhere - I did not play with any settings or anything else at all).

I will take all the advice given in this thread and see how it goes, thanks

Not sure why would you think it could be plugin issue, if that was the case I would have same problem with all my blogs. And it would probably occur with me installing or updating plugin, not "out of nowhere". Nonetheless I tried what you suggested (most of my blogs has only 1 plugin xml sitemaps activated though) just to be sure

Java !== JavaScript.

I still <3 you though, Harmon.

At first I contacted hosting support thinking they would have a clue, but they just suggested that I should speak with WP support. No help so now I am on my own and will do what you suggested. Will update tomorrow.

Has anyone told you how big of a fucking idiot you are? I'm sure your parents wish they aborted you when they had the chance.

Ok, I'll tune back in. Just let me know how I can help, and as long as it isn't more than 15 minutes or so of work, I'm happy to.
