Photogs, Producers, Adult Models, Step Inside

If there are any career girls on here. In your opinion, when you are working, have
there ever been any times where you were concerned for your personal safety?
Any situations, where you just went into a hotel room and walked right back out again
because the photographer inside was just sketch as fuck?

Reason I am asking is because one of my friends, who I have on fb and see at the goth clubs sometime, just booked some model from NM and this photog is just super skinny, not a threat to anyone, and I would be shocked if he was out of line, in any way shape or form... I have always told this cat, that "you respect your talent and treat them amazingly, that you will never have a problem in this biz." ...Anyway, this model is going to various model boards stating that this wiry, college student guy tried to rape her, 5 minutes after walking into a shoot.

When he told me, his lip was shaking and shit and I dunno, I believe real emotion like that. If you were me in this situation, what factors do you look for, when choosing the side of the story? This happened a few weeks ago. It was a ingerie shoot - nude art with 2 looks for fucks sake, in and out, easy! For me, I have to go with the model. Shocked as I am... Who goes in, meets a stranger, 5 minutes later, running out and 2 weeks later, stating unprofessionalism at the shoot. References on both ends were checked apparently and everything was kush on both sides... Models, what on Gods green earth would a photog or a producer have to say or do to elicit that response? Sad story that it is.

~Knock on wood, 123 models and 10 years, later, I have never had a bad experience with talent. I am proud of it! This guy, is done under 2 years with 14 shoots.

happens all the time... in fact if models aren't spreading lies about you, you aren't doing much shooting

Was anyone on drugs at the time?
Not the same situation, but a model flipped out on two shooters I know, saying one in particular raped her when she was drunk at a party. No formal charges were ever filed, so sounded more like a case of regret than anything legit.

You will have a bad experience... it's bound to happen--some of these models are beyond batshit crazy. Also, you're averaging a model a month (123 divided by ten years), which isn't that much. Since 1998 I've shot over 900 girls, and I bet Grapesoda, who also shoots in LA, has shot even more than that.

One would think that simply having another woman - someone the producer knows and trusts - in the room would solve issues like this...

yes, that is what I was telling him, I have a great friend and makeup artist that sits down and fixes these girls up and give me impressions of the vibe about them.

As far as the personal experiences, bound to being bad at some point, I think it also goes back to the neighborhoods that your finding your talent on as well, so to speak. That would just be crazy... and bad. I also credit some of my good luck to the fact that I am an OCD, communicator to the 9th degree.

@wrestling, IDK, I don't believe so, he would have considered it rude, unless the shoot was over. Plus he just drinks. I have had models who 1/2 way through the shoot are like "yo dude, lets smoke a bowl" and I always say I will smoke them out AFTER the shoot. It's just more professional imho... I think that's like "Being a Professional Photographer 101", right?

that would be my comment.
even have and had female on set both doing make up and doing video
doesnt change much but it is nice to have a third person in your corner just in case it gets real crazy.
just recently i saw a twitter post where a well known solo/gg model posted very negatively about a photographer.
i wonder what would happen if every time i have a bad experience i tweet it out there?
yeah you guessed it, models would make up shit and claim it is me who is the problem...

I once sent a model home very politely and told her she had gained some weight since her casting photos that the agency showed therefore we couldn't shoot. She tweeted that I called her a fat cow and thew her off set in a very creepy non professional way. She went on to say that every girl says Im a creep ect ect ect. I didn't go back and forth with her so it went away but I learned a lesson about crazy porn girls. Sounds like she played it out and wanted to drag my name in the mud either way. There is no polite way to tell a model she isn't hot enough to shoot. Next time I will just tell the girl I am having equipment problems haha.

doesn't make a bit of difference... if that 'woman - someone the producer knows and trusts' steps out of the room for 2 minutes, that's when it happens... fact: I've had that experience.

yup.... that's EXACTLY what she told me about you... it's kinda funny watching these 'webmasters' suck up to the models when all the 'full time' shooters are thinking: 'wow I wish you could spend a day with her, ... then....'

Nobody should ever accept what a model says as the truth - sadly. they are mostly 'he said, she said' situations and on the whole, young chicks who do modeling, especially porn modeling, are much less trustworthy than the producers who shoot them.

there are only a handful of girls who do porn for the right reasons, meaning they are intelligent, exhibitionists, creative, entrepreneurial. the majority are messed up, daddy issues, drug issues, self esteem issues etc etc

yeah but then it is on your dime.

well, any shooter who have done this for a while have had this experience.
i have sent girls home for many reasons, being fat, ugly, on the rag, nasty tattoos, skin rash, sick, drunk, you name it. some days you spend 10 mins with the model and she doesnt have her shit together, might as well send her home. Sometimes i even pay them a small fee just to cover their ride, like $40 or whatever. better to avoid the drama.
last thing i want is to send a mediocre shoot to my customer.

Hundreds of shoots over 18 plus years as a shooter - not one bad experience or model talkin shit.. maybe I've just been lucky or it's just because I'm a casual motherfucker.

I have had some models that were horrible hell hounds but I just do the shoot and smile and make them think they are fantastic angels from heaven - then get them out of my space as fast as fucking possible....little secret for you green shooters
