Special Offer Very Rare 1 Time Deal

So one of my customers just upgraded ALL of his servers and we set them up in another rack so he could migrate his sites to the new server cloud we setup for him (Private Cloud).

This leaves me with 20 Servers in another rack that are still great and reliable and all that.
As we have pallets of servers already for new customers we decided to make a crazy offer
for this complete rack of servers so we dont have to un-rack them and put them on the
shelves for storage. The wiring and etc is all nice and pretty so we figured heck, why not offer it to someone, its perfect.

SO with that said, we will offer the cabinet plus 20 servers (all DuoCore 4GB RAM, 200GB HD)
for $1200.00 a month. We will throw in 5 mbps bandwidth and charge 7.00 per mbps overage (multihomed level3, twtelecom, xo).

If you are interested please skype me: critical.net or on AOL: NJesterIII

I'm horrible when it comes to servers, but isn't 5mbps extremely low compared to what's being offered now?

Very low. It must be a typo.

Just wondering. If critical.net is yours, what to think of this offer?

"BUSINESS$139.99/mo.

Unlimted Storage Space
Unlimted Monthly Bandwidth
Unlimted Sub-Domains
Unlimted E-mail Accounts
Control Panel & FTP
No Shared 128bit SSL

Best for: Big Projects"

What if one needs 20 servers and 40mbps bandwith?

What they probably give you is a 10mbps half duplex port and say you can do "unlimited" bandwidth on it... thats the old trick hosts use to offer a seemingly unlimited plan. Really
on that port you can only do about 5 to 6mbps before it slows to a crawl.. but sure enough the host will say "yep, slow but you can do as much as the hardware and port will allow... whatever you are going to transfer will go but slower..."

The overage I mentioned is just a non-commit burst rate... if you come to me and say you want to commit to say 100mbps, we can be very agressive with bandwidth pricing.

The plan you mentioned at 139.99 a month comes out to 2799.80 a month.
Even if you got 40mbps at my above "burst rate" of 7.00 per mbps you end up
paying only 280.00 for the bandwidth on my plan and 1200 for the deal I mentioned.
That ends up being 1480 a month for the total which is $1319!!!!CHEAPER than what
you would pay them. :-) That is only because I want to sell this rack as-is and not have to
dismantle it.

Agreed.

"Sweet bandwidth deals" are in the $3-5 MBit range". If you push a lot of volume, you can get down to $1-3 if you find the right backbone provider and have a decent commit. Also keep in mind the bandwidth blend. There are many different carriers available, you do not have to only use Level3 as an example, who is the most expensive. Many provide good value and better pricing.

Anything over $5 Mbit really is over the 'average' in regards to bandwidth on the open market. It doesn't mean there are not plenty of ISP's out there who try and charge $10+ MBit. But that is robbery for the informed consumer. Shop around.
