Severe pain for over 2 weeks now, anyone wanna help?
Ive already been to the dentist, but he couldnt find out the problem, they took xrays, and my teeth are perfectly healthy.
the pain im having is below the tooth on the bottom, and above the tooth on the top, its constant for long periods of time, then it stops, also starts back up when hot and cold is used. my dentist put me on this prescription oral rinse, but its not helping much. any ideas what this could be?

There are nerves that join your top teeth to your bottom. Sometimes it can be a problem in a lower tooth that makes your upper tooth hurt or both.
You might want to try salt water, that usually helps a lot and can reduce the pain fairly quickly. Regular old table salt and usually room temp water is best. You might also want to try listerine mouth wash.

If you're also getting pain in your cheeks / eyes, it could be your sinuses. Whenever I have sinus infections, my jaw and teeth hurt. It's the sinus swelling putting pressure on the tooth nerves that cause all the problems.

If the pain is 10/10 then it could be Trigeminal Neuralgia.
Having experienced this and child birth this is the worst pain ever!!!

That. Jaw pain moves about so much you can't tell which teeth are causing it. I had pain above my top teeth that turned out to be I had cracked one of my bottom teeth in half and it needed taking out.

What you are describing sounds like the classic symptoms of an abscess. I had one myself about a month ago, for no apparent reason. At first it felt like there was something under my gumline - I had eaten popcorn the night before and thought maybe it was a corn husk. After a couple days of flossing like a mad-man, I started getting pain from that tooth when I chewed on it. I went to the dentist, but nothing showed up on the x-rays. Still, the dentist gave me a 7 day prescription for Penicillin and referred me to an Endodontist. I never met with the Endodontist, but the Penicillin seems to have done the trick and I haven't had an issue since.
I should add that the dentist was kind of flummoxed that I did not experience sensitivity to heat or cold as that would have clinched his diagnosis.

Clove oil... it won't fix the problem but it will alleviate any tooth pain you are feeling better than most prescription meds...

I had a cracked tooth recently, and the nerve was dying. My symptoms were similar to what you're describing, then it got worse until finally I was curled up in a ball of agonizing pain.

Do you clench your teeth? Or grind them? I have a bad habit of clenching my teeth, and it can make those two teeth hurt. It also works your muscles, and you can get pain underneath your jaw and sometimes in the side of your neck that feels like a sore throat as well.

I had something like that. When you get older your teeth flesh (is it called gums?) will track back. Than the part of your teeth can become unprotected.
![]() (on the right you see it, flesh getting back). What helped with me is a good toothpaste. Not the cheap shit but someting like Elmex sensitive or ther toothpaste for sensitive teeth. Now i use this on advice of the dentist to strenghten the teeth. ![]() And yes, it helped. So you could try it. Ask wich helps best for sensitive teeth.
