I just started using the best task management tool ever

    http://todoist.com

Someone mentioned using this on another board and I decided to give it a shot. It's free, but the paid version adds so many awesome features.

It blows Outlook tasks out of the water. Everything is synced in Outlook, on my phone, the Chrome extension and on the web.

With the premium features you can set any email as a task. You can also add notes or attach files to any task.

Since most of us work on many projects, it even lets you organize you tasks by project.

It's free or $30/year for the premium ... but the premium is so worth it for the added features.

I've tried a few but I still just like my plain old text file.

Ugh, me and text files are a bad thing. I use Edit Pad Pro and probably have at least 20 different text files open at any given moment. It becomes a jumbled mess and I always forget to save that one important file... and manage to save the useless ones I jot stuff down in.

I need more organization than a text file. I do not have enough discipline.

The feature I've found I'm using the most is scheduling emails for follow-up. Being that I use numerous IMAP accounts, Outlook isn't too great at tasks in that regard.

If you are in the iOS/OSX world, 'Reminders' syncs across desktop, tablet, phone nicely and works with Siri.

"Remind me to send email to ex members tomorrow"

                    etc

Some of us are much more versatile and demand tools that offer support across multiple OS platforms. Universal tools for all around guys like myself, we're talking different flavors of linux, mac os, ios, and windows of course.

Google already lets you do 90% of this. The missing 10% being browser integration.

That was the last one I used and it doesn't compare IMHO. At least for people that use Outlook. I used Gmail for awhile but eventually outgrew it and had to switch back to Outlook.
