For those that bitch and moan about EPA & Govt Regulations..
Have a visit to this page and try to understand why the EPA and many of the regulations we now have, that often at times seem overly burdensome, are in place..
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...rial_disasters It's to stop things like these from happening again, because time after time large corporations have shown, that they will almost always put profits above safety. The most odd ball one I noticed.. January 15, 1919: The Boston Molasses Disaster. A large molasses tank burst and a wave of molasses rushed through the streets at an estimated 35 mph (56 km/h), killing 21 and injuring 150. The event has entered local folklore, and residents claim that on a hot summer day, the area still smells of molasses. This is likely the most fucked up one.. December 3, 1984: The Bhopal disaster in India is one of the largest industrial disasters on record. A runaway reaction in a tank containing poisonous methyl isocyanate caused the pressure relief system to vent large amounts to the atmosphere at a Union Carbide India Limited plant. Estimates of its death toll range from 4,000 to 20,000. The disaster caused the region's human and animal populations severe health problems to the present. Union Carbide = The Dow Chemical Company |

You're a fucking loser. Bhopal was in India (explanation for losers like yourself: no jurisdiction in India) so you have 1 example in 100 years.
No wonder you never amounted to anything. |

What do you do anyway crockett? I've never seen you post anything about business. It's always pro-govt type posts that you make. Not attacking you...but what do you do? Do you own a company in the adult industry that I might be interested in doing business with? |

First off did you even look at the page in question? If you did, you would notice that the bulk of these accidents happened right here in the US of A. No where did I mention that the one accident happened in the USA, but rather I said it was likely one of the worst and used it as example of why we need the EPA and govt regulations. Second off, when was it ever a wise choice to "wait" until something bad happened in your country before deciding that hey maybe we should fix that because we do the same thing they did. I'm sorry I made a mistake of taking the liberty to assume people could have enough "common sense" to realize that the second was just an example of a bad accident.. It's called learning by example.. Meaning it only takes the slightest bit of common sense, (something that 12clicks doesn't have) to understand that we can use examples from other countries, so we don't create the same mistakes out of pure ignorance. Also, I'm not pro govt with out conditions. I'm pro having clean water to drink, fresh air and pro not having horse meat in my hamburgers.. but of hey that's another needed govt origination.. Of fuck the Federalist I am.. I mean holy hell.. I kinda expect a lot I guess.. |

Yeah, I looked at the page.
And it was probably not a good idea to use the Indian example when you're touting the U.S. EPA. I'm dead against all this pre-emptive regulations and laws. That's why I say you are "pro-govt" in every post you make. Anyway...I want to veer away from that. Let's talk business! ![]() What do you do? Do you own a company that does something that we might be able to make money together? These damn political type threads are depressing. |

India obviously does not have the EPA like we have. They certainly do not have the rules, regulations and fines that we have. So now you have the example of likely the worst industrial accident in history (not including Chernobyl as that was energy related) that happened due to poor regulations. It's the same as using China as example and showing that because they don't have a tough EPA like we do, as reason air in their major cities is un-breathable. We were on that same course back as late as the 40's but thanks to bringing about strong rules & regulations we have cleaned our act up significantly. Yet even today we still create a lot of pollution.. No I don't own a company that has anything to do with pollution, but I do own a human body and hope to keep it a while longer. |
