Samsung Galaxy S IV to Sport Floating Touch Technology and New AMOLED Display
New information continues to leak on Samsung's upcoming flagship device, the Galaxy S IV. SamMobile received details about some of the new features that the device will be equipped with.
According to SamMobile, the Galaxy S IV is going to utilize a floating touch technology for its display. Its concept should be similar to Air View where you hover the S Pen over an image gallery or email to preview its content. It is possible that you also can use a finger as a cursor, which Sony has implemented in its Xperia Sola. The insider source told SamMobile that Samsung is using a new AMOLED display for the Galaxy S IV, which is called "green PHOLED". What makes this display so special? Well, it reportedly uses green-yellow to make the display 25 per cent more power efficient. Samsung's teaser video for its Unpacked event hints of a new screen technology, as the driver of Rolls Royce remarks that "this is going to be one of the most amazing products to hit the market, since TV were colour". In addition, the insider source is able to confirm some of its specs which include Android 4.2.1 out of the box (update to Android 4.2.2 in the same month of release). The Galaxy S IV is said to come with a new camera feature, Samsung Orb that can take 360 degree photos like PhotoSphere in Android 4.2 and VR Panorama in the LG Optimus G Pro. A new version of Samsung TouchWiz interface is also expected to debut in the Galaxy S IV, alongside a 13-megapixel rear camera, an Exynos Octa processor and 2GB RAM. The source claims that there are currently two prototypes: one runs on Exynos Octa processor and "green PHOLED" display while the other is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 chipset and Super LCD 3 display. This should explain why there are conflicting reports on the type of processors used in the device. http://www.asiaone.com/News/Latest%2...10-407492.html |

if no amoled then sux, I hate the fading on LCD screens when you look at them off angle. On the other hand the spec race has become nuts, 8 core processor? What could possible take advantage of that on a phone?
