#4 How to grow your website through Sharesome
Hello guys. I am back with another detailed post about the tips and tricks on how you should use Sharesome in order to help you adult business grow.
Why you should use Sharesome? From my point of view, Sharesome is a mix between Twitter, Reddit and Tumblr, but for adults only. There is no judgement, no account banned and no content removed. So here are some basic and easy steps you should follow: 1. Profile - let's start with basic stuff. First of all, you should upload a profile picture and a cover photo. Maybe use the ones that you already have on other platforms, so that your fans can easily recognize you. If you applied to become a Verified Star, it’s a must that you have a short description about yourself displayed on your profile and at least one paysite. On the Settings page you’ll find a tab labeled Links. If you access that, you’re going to see a lot of fields and you should add your link there. I also recommend that you add your Sharesome profile link to your other sites. This will help your fans to discover your other social profiles and drive them to a safe and adult-friendly platform, where your sexy content will always be available and free of censorship. 2. Content - you can post your content in your timeline or in the most popular and relevant topics. Use those topics wisely and you will reach the right audience and also gain a lot of new followers. In order to post in a topic, you need to follow it first. Depending on the moderator, there will also be stuff like: face must be visible, don’t share content that’s too brutal or gifs and pictures only. That’s why it’s important for you to know what to share and where and avoid having your content removed for not following the rules. If you don’t find a Topic that suits your interests, you have the option to create your own. This is an opportunity to maybe discover other people that share your kinks. 3. Flame credits - Flame Token is the currency of Sharesome. In order to allow instant and free transactions you should use Flame Credits. As a Verified Star, you can gain credits from the tips received to your posts or by replying to messages from your fans in 48h. The prizes almost always consist in pretty nice amounts of Flame Credits. You can use these Credits to boost your profile, in order to reach more people and become even more visible on the platform. You are also able to give tips to fellow stars that you like. 4. Other features - you can sign up on Sharesome using Twitter and every time you create a post you can also share it on Twitter. You will be able to reach new audiences here. It's not a huge platform, but if you take the time to put some work and time on it, you can get some great results. I hope you enjoyed it. Looking for your feedback and also for more tips and tricks regarding Sharesome.

On the other is the removal of content from a topic by a moderator. Think of topics like Facebook Groups. They are communities around specific kinks or fetishes where people gather to post what turns them on. If someone come and posts something completely inappropriate to the subject of the topic, it is only fair for the moderators to remove the content. But content removed by moderators is not deleted, is only removed from said topic. It is still visible on the profile of the poster or on other topics where it was shared. |

Again, just like most sites, if you violate TOS your posts/images/whatever will get pulled. It really doesn't matter if the content is still on the profile because the content is posted in the context of a particular topic/forum/thread/whatever. I am not trying to be an asshole here but you are pushing this as being adult friendly, just as several other platforms are as they try to plug the holes left by other platforms tightening their rules. Adult basically built TUMBLR. TUMBLR was very adult friendly until it wasn't. Same with OnlyFans. It was built on the work of adult performers but as soon as they started getting enough mainstream to survive they started tightening the screws on adult. Is there some guarantee that you guys won't do the same? Is it in your TOS that you will NOT remove content no matter how explicit it is? Of course not, as that would run afoul of laws and would have you in constant trouble. So, you are adult friendly now. That is good. However, as with any third party platform that adult content creators contribute their hard work and effort to, you can never say that you will not remove the content (but you say that anyway). https://sharesome.com/pages/terms/ Quote:

Sharesome has always been adult friendly. Sharesome isn't about using content creators and performers to gain market share. They truly are an ally and have positioned themselves to be the social media network for adult. As for the comment about the TOS, every site needs to be able to remove content in their sole discretion. You will find similar language in every TOS. It would be ridiculous for a site not to retain that ability when they allow UGC. |

Right now the TOS is a generic statement that more or less say "you can post anything you like, until we tell you otherwise, but we cant give you any specific pointers, since that would limit our lateral movement as a legal entity in case shit hits the fan, or we get a big partner that is more important than you" That kind of TOS is to help your client - not the affiliates So lets see some written statement to back your claim of them being "truly an ally" |

And that question has been skirted and deflected but not answered. The fact is that no platform that wants to stay in business can state as a fact that "NO content will be removed" and that is all that I was trying to point out. .

For the record.
I wish Sharesome.com nothing but success. I hope it stays adult friendly and provides a great and reliable platform for the content creators of our community. .

I cannot speak for Nichole. I do not know her, but it is my understanding that she does not represent Sharesome. Miles work for Sharesome, that I can assure you. He can explain when/why/if content is removed. I handle the issues pertaining to DMCA and Repeat Infringer policy. We do remove content pursuant to a DMCA request and lack of counter-notification. I think that you are forgetting that all sites must retain the ability to remove illegal, obscene or content that is questionable. My description of ally is based on my conversations with the owners and staff of Sharesome and understanding that they want to achieve. Sharesome isn't here to gain traction from adult and then run away. |

While NicoleGrey states that content will not be removed from the platform, she also states that it can be removed from a topic. Then the discussion went on about whether Sharesome removes content at all or not and I will address that point a bit later. Until then, let me explain how the topic system works: When you make a post on Sharesome.com, you have the possibility to post it in a topic, not only on your profile. Those topics work as Facebook Groups or Reddit's subreddits. They are communities built around specific niches where people can share what excites them the most. Anyone can start their own topic or they can post in topics made by other people. People can also follow other people or topics they find interesting. Since topics are community driven, the moderators of said topics can make up rules for posting in the topic, as long as they comply with the site's general TOS and Community Guidelines. So if a user starts posting in a topic content that the moderator of said topic deems inappropriate, the moderator can remove said post from the topic in question. But this doesn't mean the post is deleted. The post is still available on the OP's profile, as it was before the removal of the post from the topic. Moderators don't have the tools to delete content, only to remove content from a specific topic. This ensures that people following a topic see in their feed content that they are interested in, not every random piece of content somebody shares on Sharesome. So, a post removed from a topic is not deleted, it's distribution is limited to the people who enter the OP's profile, not to those who browse the topic. Quote:
And even if we stated in our TOS that we don't remove content at all, that was no more than a promise as well, since any website can modify their TOS at any time for whatever reason. Ultimately it's an HTML page on the company's servers. So I don't think a more precise TOS would have provided much assurance regarding our content policies. |
