Is the internet still 'nuke proof'? - GoFuckYourself.com

The whole idea of the net back in the cold war days was that it would be 'nuke' proof, before porn its only job was to keep communications open in the event of WW3 - Does that still stand?

With the events of the last few weeks you have to wonder would it still work?

If the worst happened would I still be able to see the BBC, CNN or GFY?

Obviously it would depend where IT happens to a degree.

Is the internet up to the job it was built for all those years ago?

that was the case with the "old" network, first one was from the army.

An EMP weapon (like the one North Korea has on the launch pad right now) would knock out all electronics that were not protected. Detonate it in the atmosphere, like they can do, and it can cover a lot of area.

What we use... Most likely isn't. A few hits in the right spots would cripple the Internet.
