That doesn't include fake profiles sites.

The cam guys on here know how much their industry is worth. I haven't seen a video on demand person here. People here have opined that adult web sites are $800m - $1.2b and it looks like this is another brick in that wall.

Probably means that adult pay sites have dropped to 10% of 2005 revenue, because they made up a much larger portion of the total revenue in 2005, and cams were less.

So adult online pay sites represent 4% of consumers. That means you bastards should be getting 1:25 rather than 1:2000! Hello! Lazy-asses!

Some of the simpler producers that don't understand marketing very well produce for fun and get original content and barely make margin sometimes.
That guy has about 150-180 active members, I know a producer that has been online for about 10 years and has about 3-5k active members.

If you recall a thread back in 2007 with FTV, they made an announcement of thanking affiliates for getting them above the 30k active member mark.
As I recall that's a 2 man team and all they do is work, well deserved. Numbers are down, even if the article is wrong with stats it got it right.

I believe that was the guesstimate made by Paul Fishbein when he was speaking to the media a few years ago and they ran with it. However, he did qualify it by saying that no one really knows the numbers because most adult companies are private.
