?They shut down our account without any reason,? said Mr. David, an ebullient entrepreneur with a background in technology companies. ?They just said we have the right to refuse service to whomever we wish.?

That's Goldman Sachs, Federal Reserve and the entire banking system saying to bitcoins, "we turned on these guys, ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haqqani_network - loans without interest. Never say "loan without interest" to a banker. ) and we are turning on you."

Then you have butt hurt little twits like Joseph David asking, why me? Why are they picking on me? What did I do so wrong? Echoes of 1930's Europe anyone?

I support the concept of bitcoins 100%. As far as I am concerned anything that can crush banks and the evil empire we are dealing with is good. But it has to be done yet another way.

By getting involved in bitcoins you are opening yourselves up to an international scrutiny of all of your financial transactions. It boggles me why people get involved with it before grasping the consequences.

The backlash is steamrolling/

Problem in Canada is there are only 6 major banks with assets more than $100bn dollars in the country. So if RBC does it and a few more join in, it's pretty much lights out.

On the other hand, Bitcoins is well supported by a large French bank, and PayPal's president is thinking about including Bitcoins. It's going to be a matter or trying to kill it first and then join it.

You always know a person is at fault and there is much more to the story, when they start with the "they did it to me for no reason" line of BS. Bad journalism.

I seriously doubt banks are going to embrace a currency used in anonymous financial transactions, including drug deals, money laundering etc. There is a reason banks require a lot of due diligence before you can open an account and where all money transactions can also be traced to account owners. Anyone that believes banks will embrace anyone dealing with a currency that allows for 100% anonymity, has a great deal to learn about banking and bank regulations.

Funny people are making fun of CANEK and his location says "Antigua" - Anyone know the webmaster/program owner on this forum that had all his accounts frozen, was kicked out of the country and had his passport stamped so he couldn't return, just for being associated with porn?

I don't see paypal getting involved in bitcoins. Paypal will always side with the buyer. The beauty of bitcoins is that it truly is a buyer beware type thing. Many people would love to sell stuff online but there are too many scammers out there.

It is really amusing that some people really think that bitcoins will be allowed to become a mainstream currency.

The moment it steps out from being nothing more than hype and a laundering service the mainstream banks, governments, and regulators will kill it.

That does not mean that some short term profits can be made mining or trading, but there are easier, less volatile commodities to buy and sell.

Bitcoin only needs one major bank.. .someone will see a market there and go for it even if all else does not. This won't influence BC in any way imho

Watching Japanese TV today while I was laying in bed. It was translated at the bottom of the screen but they were talking about a Japanese bank seizing an account associated with Bitcoin. I wasn't able to get the full info but if someone can read Japanese they can probably google it.

I just tried myself and couldn't find it but did find two other banks in other countries (UK and Israel) having issues with Bitcoin. From earlier this month:

They are trying to kill it already and will organise better to kill it.
Just I am not sure they can kill bitcoins completely, in fact banks, governments, and regulators didn't killed every illegal thing going on in the planet, not at all.
Simply it will be very very hard to exchange BTC with USD$ and EUR, and this will have to be done mostly shady, after mtgox's , btc-e's are ceased.

That's like saying "all drug dealers and arms dealers need is one major bank...". You can't look at it from your own perspective, your own wants, needs, perceptions, beliefs and so on and look at it from a regulatory issue. Banks are heavily monitored and regulated. Thats for good reason. Major banks and central banking systems won't be associated with anonymous financial transactions. Small banks (say in St Kitts or where ever) will simply be labeled "money laundering institutions" by the US / EU and be forced to dissociate themselves or risk not doing any financial transactions in major world currencies. People seriously don't get how easy it is for the EU/US to make a bank fold and comply.

It's one thing to believe it can survive as a currency for the purchase of goods and services. That's probable. It's naive and/or delusional to believe Bitcoins will somehow be integrated into world financial systems. That is highly improbable. Bitcoins will most likely only survive outside the system....trying to make it something else will simply cause its demise.
