Spotify vs. iTunes: Which Music Service Is Better?

Which do you prefer? I've really only used iTunes myself.

Quote:
Music is a huge part of a lot of people's lives.

The rise of Apple's iTunes, the iPod, and even the iPhone has allowed anyone to carry thousands upon thousands of songs right in a pocket. T here haven't been many challengers that stood a chance, until Spotify arrived in the U.S. a few years ago.

Spotify and iTunes each have individual benefits making it often difficult to choose between the two.

If you prefer physically owning your files then iTunes may be for you, but if you want access to a ton of songs at any time then maybe Spotify is worth a shot.

I like listening to albums, basically for free on Spotify. Can iTunes do that?

Spotify hands-down, you can instantly have your playlist on any device, easily share songs/albums, and most importantly don't have to buy anything -- you wanna listen to something you click and you're done (I pay $9.99 a month but don't mind at all)

They are not fair comparisons.

I would say Spotify is a combination of Pandora and Rhapsody. ITunes is neither of the three.

They are two completely different services.

That said, you can find 1 year of Spotify premium on EBay for $30.
