The human race is in plague proportions. most of the endangered species are actually food sources for the local humans. Eg: An afghan goat is considered an endangered species but goes well on a spit roast.
Cockroach and rats may not survive a nuclear holocaust unlike humans as humans inhabit the ends of the earth the north pole and deserts. Humans will continue to destroy the planet but it won't be through the fictional sky is falling global warming we will simply just make the land inhabitable bit by bit with lack of food and contaminated water supplies and disease. As the dumbest animal on the planet we have enslaved ourselves a culling would only better the lives of the survivors.
