What monitor do you use?

Whats everybody using High End or Regular Monitor for their Video and Photography processing?

High End one for Video/Photo Editing or regular monitor as thats whats the surfer is going to use?

I do notice that going from my editing monitor to a regular one the pictures almost look completely different and I should probably edit for the regular monitor

27'' Dell XPS One27 + Dell 24'' side monitor

http://i.imgur.com/EdGjwa9.jpg

I would have a hard time going to less than 27'' for video/design/code, so I use the 24'' which is smaller and lower color quality as well for testing what a surfer would see.. (exactly like you mentioned, it looks completely different on the standard mon so that's always the final test, sometimes I need to go back and edit colors again, but the time to do that is less than the time wasted in lower productivity from a smaller monitor)

I've got a hotkey set up with DisplayFusion to resize the browser window to 1024x768 as well, because that's the main res that causes me problems.

Having the extra vertical room to display all your code etc without scrolling up and down all the time is by far the best reason to go 27'' if that's the sort of work you're doing.

I use the 30's because I wanted the 2560x1600 resolution... I see that NEC now offers the same rez... I have a sager laptop I got to render HD to render HD on the road... no longer on the road so the sager sits in the garage, used as an online music player and that's about it...

I don't really consider a laptop as having any value for image processing due to the screen

Using a samsung synmaster 305t same resolution 2560x1600...great monitor just when I go back to a laptop or reg monitors the pics arent quite the same. Not such an issue at say smaller res pic but at anything over 6mp its just not there...I never hear anything from anybody in regards to processing but who knows...

Depends on what you use it for. The ASUS PB278Q one of my customers use for a dual-screen setup, is perfect for Bloomberg News. Many gamers might want to go with 2560x1080 Ultra-wide monitors, because that is what most games aim for atm.

laptop is a dell studio 15.6" at 1920x1080 making everything on the screen tiny..
