a) Question Mark?
b) Question point?

In the UK we say that this '!' is an exclamation MARK. You say its a point...

Do you say the same for the "?'

Disclaimer - Having lived in the US myself for 10 years, I should know this, however someone asked me the above question earlier on... And I DIDNT KNOW THE ANSWER !!!!

I guess you'd have a point if I were American. As a Canadian that lives in Bermuda (A British Protectorate) I guess I have a good perspective on both. Americans (and Canadians) speak a much more modern sounding English.

Fortunately it's American culture that's spreading much more rapidly across the globe. I mean have you ever watched British television or movies?

A 2012 survey by Gallup found roughly 640 million adults would want to migrate to another country in the world if they had the chance to.[8] Nearly one-quarter (23%) of these respondents, which translates to more than 150 million adults worldwide, named the United States as their desired future residence, while an additional 7% of respondents, representing an estimated 45 million, chose the United Kingdom. The other top desired destination countries (those where an estimated 25 million or more adults would like to go) were Canada, France, Saudi Arabia, Australia, Germany and Spain.
Looks like given the choice, more people would rather go to the USA than anywhere else. How do you figure that translates?

Pretty sure I've heard of the phrase "The American Dream" in more than one place. Never heard anybody talk about The European or Asian dream before. Weird.

Question Mark.

Exclamation point and mark are both used. Point more often.

So the US gets this great coverage World wide despite apparently being hated everywhere? Does that make sense to you?

Personally, I've travelled all over the World. Asia, Europe, South America, Central America, Australia. I've seen a lot of places and had the opportunity to experience a lot of different cultures. The World is a large and fascinating place. Having done all that through 20 years or so of my adult life, I applied last year for my American Green Card. When I get it in 7 years or so I plan to retire in Hawaii. Australia would be a fairly close second though.

Yeah I never said that, I love the US, great place blah blah yadda yadda. I am definitely not one of the haters of the US.

However the fact is, all the movies promote it in a very very very positive way.

I have driven clear across Australia, from the east to west coast, north to south and can tell you this - we''re a worthy second A landscape you will not experience anywhere...

Yes Australia is absolutely beautiful.

It doesn't really matter if people see the USA in a positive way because of movies or the media. The poster's original statement was "imagine how the world feels about americans". Regardless of how people reached the conclusion, it would appear that the World as a whole doesn't share the totally negative opinion the poster has.

The poster seems pretty inexperienced with the World in general so it doesn't surprise me. He was saying not too long ago that Afghan Mujahideen were basically a bunch of inexperienced untrained cavemen. Of course the truth of the matter is that Afghanistan has been in an almost perpetual state of war for quite some time and has some very experienced and ferocious tribal fighters.

Imagine how Australians must feel knowing their country was pretty much founded by the British exporting all of their criminals to their island never to be allowed to return home.

Instead they lived their lives out in Australia where they raped, and killed each other, finally creating a culture of inbred criminals which formed the Australian colonies that we know today... Isn't history a great thing, just think if on of Warchilds ancestors wasn't a rapist, child molestor, murderer or something along those lines he'd probably have been born in Britain instead of one of the worlds largest penal colonies.

Are we supposed to make movies that emphasize how much we suck? We leave that to Michael Moore and North Korea. I've heard they both are filing for a patent.

It's funny that again, the discussion goes back to "which country is best".

Considering the countries you're talking about, I find it even more hilarious that people again feel the need to try and defend former British colonies against eachover, forgetting where they came from in the first place.

I do find it funny though being a Brit. That the places people left the UK for, turned out to be a lot better, the US would probably be the best of them if it wasn't taken over by a bunch of bible bashing morons. Australia looks hell of a lot nicer than the UK but haven't been there yet. Canada is nice, doing good in the economic sense, has some great people, has its problems like most places. Whereas Britain is broken, falling into a state of a third world country, getting raped by the EU and just generally being a shit hole.

Everywhere looks nicer, till you go there. Even seems nicer, for a while, because it's all new, like a vacation. The longer you live in a place, the more you see of the 'bad' stuff. I don't mean crime, just 'minor' shit and annoyances.

There are people in every country that hate where they are and think their country is a shithole.

Personally I always start to hate wherever I am eventually and want to go elsewhere; maybe that's because the one thing you can't change, wherever you are, is yourself.

Why the fuck would you need to wait 7 years. Dress up as a Mexican peasant and come through the southern border. The politicians can't wait to give you citizenship.

Let me see if I understand what you're trying to say. It's kind of difficult because you seem like you might be a bit retarded. Do you think I'm Australian?

It's kind of funny that whenever somebody has something good to say about a country, dimwits like yourself automatically assume they must be from that country. I imagine it comes from having a very small perspective on the World. Kind of sad really.
