don't much care one way or another what the homos do however I disagree with using the word 'marriage' to delineate homosexual activity. homos should have the exact same right to get fucked over in a divorce that straights do... BUT marriage is a word defined by cultures though a long history that has nothing to do with gays. the gays only used the word marriage to antagonize the religious crowd which IMO is very shitty and petty of them

Marriage is just a word that describes a legal relationship.

Straight couples can work on a new improved "super marriage" and pass it into law if they want to. Or homosexuals can. Either way.

Or how about we stop being fucking retards and understand that we're all the same, whether we like the same sex, have a darker skin color, or come from fucking Africa...?

the gays play themselves off as loving caring victims of society ... they proved that to be complete bullshit... how about when people decide they are gay that is delusional.

Humanity will go on with or without your marriage to a dog, or with or without gays marrying each other, and neither should affect anyone else in any way, shape, or form. In a million years none of it will matter anyway.

It really is a strange world we live in. The legal union of two people should be of no concern to anyone other than those two people.

It's so much more than that. My brother is not legally married, and cannot give his girlfriend of fifteen years health benefits. When he was in the hospital a few months back, his girlfriend was unable to visit him for over a week - all because they didn't have that silly piece of paper.

It's funny really, because a year ago he told me there was "no reason for him to get that piece of paper". Since then he has learned exactly what that silly piece of paper means.

exactly, this is the issue the homos are facing... the inability to have common civil rights such as inheritance, custody, health coverage from a spouse etc... and all 'couples' should have those rights however there was no need to use the word 'marriage'

What you describe is exactly why it's important to remember that it's a legal document.

It's not some mystical juju or voodoo or church thing. Being married by a holy person is simply an option in marriage. This is a secular society after all. It wasn't fair to ban people from it for fucking differently.

People have already tried the separate but equal thing and it really doesn't work. Whites Only water fountain? Just have a Blacks Only water fountain! Whites Only diner? Just have a Blacks Only diner! Straights Only marriage? Just have Gays Only civil unions! It's all the exact same malarky. Being a married couple is what will separate married couples from just plain old couples who shack up. Same as it ever was.

Besides, no state (still) is required to recognize the marriage formed in another state. DOMA was always a useless red herring.

you've labeled me nonhuman and foolish on a public forum just for disagreeing with you...... in essence you have decided that my opinion has no value and choose to mock me. really Sarah? how dare I disagree with you? I obviously have no value because you are morally and intellectually superior and made the call? is that how it works? remind you of any other 'group'?

you don't get it do you Sarah? so only gay people have rights? is that the deal? what about religious people, they don't have rights?

what's different about you than them? you are just a bigoted, just as opinioned, just as morally superior and just as much of a bully.

personally don't care what anyone does sexually as long as they are over 18 and there is free will involved... but please leave my dog alone.

be pretty interesting if you would look at 'your' behaviors. you might be very surprised at what you find.

As long as opponents of gay equality put out the false baloney that gay is a choice, they win and they know it because they're not stupid.

I don't CHOOSE to be straight, I want to fuck women! lmao! Gee, maybe tomorrow I'll choose to fuck men? BZZZZZZ! Wrong answer.

read this very carefully: I have never said anything or stated anything against gay equality. I say using the word 'marriage' for a homosexual relation is a bullying attack against the religious in retaliation for whatever reason. I stand by that statement.

anyone trying to bring any unbiased view or any open mindedness or opinion to the 'gay agenda' is immediately attacked.

I know several gay couples and you know what? they never bring it up, guess because they are about being regular people not 'gay people with a chip on their shoulder'. nobody wants to be around some asshole with a chip on their shoulder

I moved to the UK about 7 years ago after marrying my wife in Massachusetts. (She's a Brit, so I couldn't sponsor her for a greencard because of DOMA.) Our immigration lawyers are sending in our greencard application later today so we can move back to the USA.

I love this whole marriage thing because in my mind it is a huge example of unintended consequences. I think DWB was spot on in that ideally it shouldn't be of concern to anyone but the persons involved.

But THIS is a prime example of what happens when the religious folks push to get the government to legislate religious institutions into law. The minute it becomes law it is no longer a religious institution, it is a government institution and it is open to political whim and most importantly on this one, constitutional review.

The government simply cannot treat people differently

Had the “church” kept it’s marriage as a religious institution and not allowed the government to legislate it in any way then the first amendment protection of freedom of religion prevails.

Without children I don't think m/f or m/m or f/f relationships should even be recognized by the state/law as marriages/family - who cares who you live with or who you fuck. When kids are born/adopted, that is now a family unit tied together forever, and legally until the children are adults.

I dont see the big deal here. Let them get married and be miserable like the rest of us... They also pay taxes too, how is it fair for them to kick in to the "pie" but not get any of it?

Congrats! Having done the transatlantic marriage thing, that is one aspect that I have been watching in particular.

you don't get it do you Sarah? so only gay people have rights? is that the deal? what about religious people, they don't have rights?

what's different about you than them? you are just a bigoted, just as opinioned, just as morally superior and just as much of a bully.

personally don't care what anyone does sexually as long as they are over 18 and there is free will involved... but please leave my dog alone.

be pretty interesting if you would look at 'your' behaviors. you might be very surprised at what you find.
Not only is there no actual logic to the response you just wrote to me but there aren't any sentences either.

If you were curious why I stopped replying to your emails it is because I remembered who you were.

Supreme Court drops DOMA. Barnes & Noble drops the Nook, and Food Channel drops Paula Deen. Bad week for bigots, books and butter.

Well, when the beagle reaches legal age (or gets parental consent), handles the required paper work and says, "I do", go for it

I never understood the religious getting behind it, it was never a religious thing, it was a state thing or government thing.
Prop 8 in California is dead. the only thing I can say about that is, thou it was stupid to have as a law, people voted on it and it shows what ever we vote on, a judge can override it, that scares me. Judges are not suppose to have that power.
Given time, and another vote, prop 8 would have been shot down by the voters

So people in the US are responsible for 13% of the carbon in the atmosphere which 95% is not from Humans, like cars and trucks and stuff and they want to spend trillions to fix it while Solar Panel plants are powered by coal plants
think about that

So, if a married couple never has children and one dies the other gets no benefits and the next of kin of the deceased gets all their stuff?
