my wifi sucks...

when on laptop my wifi goes out and trys logging in to antoher network.. what could cause the router to just reset out of no were, i do not have pass protected because some reason when i do that the other computers wont connect even with the pass.

I assume it's the neighbors logging on since no pass protect what do u think?

get high speed and a router its like 30 bucks a month

router needs replaced with an upgrade i think.. been using it for a few years now and it's broke do u think that effects the signal?

There are several things that could be happening. More info is needed.

- Could be a faulty router.
- Could be that their signal is stronger than yours.
- Could be an issue with your wifi adapter
- Could be the order with the wifi network preference list (yours is lower in the list than theirs)

Try the following to start:

When your laptop connects to the other network, disconnect from it. Depending on your OS, your laptop will not reconnect automatically to that network.

Also, you can change the order of the networks, putting your Wifi at the top of the connection preference list.

You also can change the roaming tendency of your wifi adapter in its property settings. Changing it to "conservative" will stop your laptop from wanting to switch.
