Scores Atlantic City adult club is a casino first

ATLANTIC CITY ? Bob Gans likes the beach. He likes Atlantic City.



So when the idea of opening a Scores adult entertainment club in Atlantic City evolved, Gans jumped at the opportunity. Later this summer, the idea will become a reality at Trump Taj Mahal.

?We appreciate that the Trump Taj Mahal had the vision and business savvy to feature Scores Atlantic City as a premiere nightlife attraction that appeals to everyone,? said Gans, the club?s managing partner. ?It is certain to become a distinct competitive advantage in the Atlantic City marketplace.?

The first entertainment complex of its kind to open in a U.S. casino hotel, Scores Atlantic City took two years and $25 million to complete. The 36,000-square-foot-club features a labyrinth of venues, including VIP areas and private rooms.

Scores will have eight bars and five different components. Each room contains a different motif, different music and a different visual.

?We wanted to open something that had never been done before: an adult entertainment complex, not a strip club. It will have something for everybody from 21 to 65: visual entertainment, an outside deck off the boardwalk, a sports bar and a male revue aimed for women,? Gans noted.

?There?s a market for people who look for some form of entertainment that?s different, safe and not seedy,? Gans explained.

?The safety of the hotel is a draw by itself and if we are correct, it will be somewhat of a game-changer for Atlantic City.?

Scores struck a deal to open Robert?s Steakhouse on the first floor of the Taj and later build Scores on the second. The restaurant is owned by Scores.

?You can have a party for 300 people and isolate the room like a dance club, and with catering by Robert?s,? Gans boasted. ?You can be a voyeur or watch the Eagles. The outside deck offers smoking.?

Robert?s will offer group dinner and entertainment packages and a variety of catering options to clientele at Scores. The entrance fee will depend on the time of day and which club.

DJs will provide music, but Gans left open the possibility of live bands. ?It?s easy to bring in a live band in a room for 250 people.?

As the name indicates, Scores is heavy on the sports bar theme.

The original Scores in New York City is known for its dancers and celebrity sightings. Scores Atlantic City reflects the evolution of the brand from modern-day gentlemen?s club into a social and sensory adult entertainment complex that appeals to men and women alike, Gans explained.

Scores will include the Black Box Cabaret, a state-of-the-art special event space that can be reserved with or without Scores entertainers; the Spread, an intimate sports bar; the Deck at Scores, an exclusive beachside day and nightclub experience and the Scores Collection Retail Store.

There will be cameras on your every move. And if a dancer so much as dances "too close" she will be fined.

It will also be incredibly overpriced.

This will be a strip club for suckers...almost like the ones here in Vegas.
