When did Paypal start charging an extra fee for credit cards

So I sent some cash to somebody using my credit card, which i've always done with Paypal - and for the first time I see a 15 dollar fee for using a credit card to fund.

There has always been an extra fee vs. funding through bank account for using a credit card.

What changes is, people select product, service, other / gift and the other categories shows the fee to the sender.
Otherwise its just deducted silently.

no, i have never seen a $14.95 fee for using a credit card to fund a transaction and I have been using that method for 10 years, and it has nothing to do with who pays the transaction fees, it's a fee just for using a credit card.

If you dont know that they charge more for credit cards than bank transfers then I'm not really sure what I'm going to be able to tell you besides, they do.

Not only that, but the question has been answered here every so often as well.

Now, if you are seeing a fee IN ADDITION then I have no idea about that.

Sounds like you're saying the $14.95 fee is a fixed and additional fee they're charging, above the usual 2-4%? Never seen that before.

This thread is pointless without:

[a] the amount that you sent
[b] information on whether there were any other fees on the transaction.

yes that's exactly what it was - i've sent hundreds of payments through Paypal using a credit card as the funding source, sometimes sending as a 'gift' so the receiver didn't have to pay the fees but usually sending as payment for services and never until yesterday did i see this flat $14.95 fee just for using a credit card.
