Iran steps up rhetoric for and against Syria

Iran steps up rhetoric for and against Syria. Earlier, Rafsanjani blamed Assad for attacks.
Interesting and bizarre day for ME politics.

Of course Iran is going to say the USA isn't allowed to bomb Syria, Assad is their most useful proxy and they have an assload invested in the regime. What else do you expect them to say?

On the international field...what trumps? US domestic laws or International laws?

Of course I get Iran but realistically which laws have priority in an international situation?

i don't know if this is going to be interpreted as a threat:

"The legality of it aside, any use of force in the region will ignite a fire which would be difficult to extinguish," he said.

but that aside, fucking good. i want everybody up in arms over it. come out against it, pursue it at the un, if it's in violation of international law/ un protocols then fuck yeah, stop it there. just stop it.

Laws are not created by the loser.

US is losing its position. Soon it will not be able to act unilaterally without dire consequences coming to the 50 states right? We've already had consequences as in 9/11.

What do you think of Rafsanjani coming out against Syria?

If the US really wants stability and rule of law they would consider following the law at some point.

It seems more and more evidence is gathering that US and Al Qaeda work together when need be. Ben Ghazi for example and now in Syria.

It's very odd what we are seeing. Don't you think?

I would be curious how this would play out for the general assembly of the UN. Put it to a vote after a 2 day discussion, at least as a point of reference. I think we would see US has few allies these days. Just the ones getting aid mostly.

I always thought it was common knowledge that the USA created Al Qaeda through the CIA. Whether or not they retain control is something else.

yes, it's fucking odd. for a while i could only assume that obmama's advisors must all be military. honestly. the redline comment, the immediate saddling up of ships,
this country has some serious issues and i get that, but jtfc we went from doing nothing to missile strike with only a red line comment in-between, that's not how shit works in the real world- not once in this timeline have i heard anything about the un, it's all been obmama said red line,, they crossed it, missile time, fuck that motherfucking shit.

i don't know a whole shitton of peeps but not a single 1 i do know sees any sense in us military intervention or agrees with wtf obama is up to. it's too much, it's insane. honestly, this guy.

i could *drone* on & on about how odd the entire thing is.

there is footage of donald rumsfeld meeting saddam hussein having a merry old time. i don't know how there is a movie of osama bin laden flinching with a firearm and another of that man hussein who was supposedly connected to 9/11 of which i suppose they are all vaguely aren't they.

your politicians have certainly lied i can tell you that much for starters.

If you haven't heard anything about the UN during the whole Syria crisis you haven't been paying attention. The Security Council is where all the real shit gets done, and through this entire thing Russia has made it very clear they will veto any anti-Assad action. Again and again. With each member having veto power, when one decides to obstruct it pretty much stymies the whole process.

I'm against any Syria strike too, because it's stupid. But the UN is a broken institution.

And *all* the major powers ignore it and take unilateral action when it suits them. Did Russia check with the UN a few years back for the Russian-Georgia "war"? Hell no - they just rolled in the tanks & jets and proceeded to whip some ass.
