:stoned Question for sponsors: Would you payout an affiliate even if he doesn't meet the required minimum?

Lets say that affiliate retiring or for some reason deciding that he is no longer going to promote or work in adult business.
He is making request asking for the funds on his affiliate account.

Would you do it?

absolutely.. money is owed, money is owed.

Generally we'll take an email and adjust the minimum payout accordingly

Yeah, I would do. It might be a rule, but it's better for business if you just pay out.

Any decent sponsor would do this, as per your examples.

Any who wouldn't are usually scumbags.

sending checks makes sense, but wiring it? Doesn't make sense for really small amounts...

Where did I or the thread starter say anything about wire transfers?

And how many people who don't meet minimums are using wires?

as long as there is a valid exception, I don't see why not.

I had $99 in an old program and they refused to pay because the minimum is $100. they stopped converting for me and I stopped pushing them. sure its only $100 but the point is if its earned, why can't it be paid.

In that instance, they should charge a fee to process the request and can only be done every X number of times per year. I would have gladly paid $10 for them to write me a check, but instead, I have $0 now.

Most of these programs are such scumbags, they look for any reason to pocket a few dollars

Yeah, it doesn't make sense. But if the affiliate pay the transaction fee, I don't see any problem there..

I've done it many times in the past, and I would definitely do it for someone retiring or getting out of the business. However, I did once have an affiliates who after I gave them an early payout once to help them out, started asking me to advance them money every week. It got to the point where I had basically lent the guy over $1000.00 to pay his rent or whatever, and then he got lazy and stopped promoting us. I did eventually recover the funds but took it took months and caused some issues with our Accounting department. Of course he kept asking to be fronted more money all the while and I had to start refusing him until his balance was paid off. So my answer is yes, I'm happy to help, as long as the Affiliate isn't out to take advantage of my kindness!

I guess I get the guys sitting at $99 when the minimum is $100. Sending a guy $12.47 paypal seems like a waste of both of our time.

If you are at 99$ on a 100$ payout and they dont want to give you the money. Just join the website you promote for the trial or under 20$. Half that money gonna get back to you anyway and then you reach the payout.
