Yeah, you missed the part where the top end of the flag folded over causing the
red on the reverse side to cover the front diagonal blue-stars stripe and the reverse side
diagonal blue-stars stripe is now showing in front instead.

Draw an "X" on both sides of a piece of paper like it was a two sided flag, then fold the corner over in a diagonal angle with the folded edge running parallel with the cross stroke of the "X".

Often times, people like to falsely believe that the Confederate flag is somehow not offensive. As Jonathan Capehart of the Washington Post highlighted in his recent piece, it's akin to placing a swastika somewhere.

And now people try to pretend that Cruz's strategy didn't put us where we are. It is a ruthless insurgent strategy, similar to the Confederacy, designed to divide and conquer by whipping people into an hysterical frenzy.

?Veterans? ? basically Tea Partyers ? led by Palin and Cruz, marched today on the World War II memorial in Washington, DC, stole the National Park Service?s protective barriers, and then threw them at the White House.

This was intended to show their ire over the fact that the World War II memorial, along with every other federal land, site, office and program, was closed once the GOP shut down the federal government in the hopes of extorting the President into defunding health care reform, aka Obamacare, aka the Affordable Care Act.

The Tea Party ?vets,? led by Palin and Cruz, are apparently so outraged at themselves for shutting down the federal government, that they?re now protesting the President.

Point of fact: Neither Palin nor Cruz have actually served in the military, and both support the GOP government shutdown which closed the WWII memorial. But don?t let that get in the way of a good visual.

We know what the Dixie flag represents and its heritage; the Civil War was fought over States rights.

I only stated my opinion that the confederate flag, at times, was unfairly being used as a symbol by various hate groups, which is something that we don?t support the flag being used for. The Confederate flag means something more to us, Heritage not Hate?
In other words, the next time you see a Confederate flag at a Lynyrd Skynyrd show and you are a little offended, don?t see it as reference to slavery?see it as a reference to all the good stuff that the antebellum South was known for.

That all great, and true. It's a valid symbol of a heritage specific to a large part of the country, the slavery thing notwithstanding. But that flag in front of a black president's White House means a whole other thing, and you know that. Look at the intent behind it, and you'll have the correct reaction, which should be "that guy is part of the problem."
