Why would you not do that?

Also I do not recall mentioning that I would create pages instead of posts, I meerly asked if the plugin was capable of creating pages from xml feeds.

Yes of course it can publish the content as standard posts, pages or any custom post types. Just choose the appropriate type in the "Post type" drop box
