Anyone here have epi-lasik?

I'll be most likely going for EPI-LASIK in a few weeks. Anyone ever have this? I don't give a fuck about the laser but the whole idea of someone cutting part of my eye is scary as shit. How do they keep your eye from moving?

Have a browse of this site www.optimaxruinedmylife.com it covers the side of eye surgery you don't normally hear. It put me off eye surgery with any provider.

I'm getting an eye surgery tomorrow for retinal tears, then gonna look into the lasik.

As for this site... lemme put it this way. My girl is an ortodontist, and some patients are just fucking crazy. They'll blame an ortodontist for new cavities. They don't show up for visits for 6 months and then say the ortodontist is bullshit and do bad work, etc....

It sounds like he got an eye infection after the surgery and blames the doctor. He complains about floaters (which are actually an issue with the retina and not the cornea), halos (which everyone with a higher perscription has...), and overall does a piss poor job even explaining what's wrong (I can't find the whole story at all...).

I have heard good things and bad as well about lasik. Bad ones are really scary though. But hopefully your will be alright. Good luck man!

I wouldn't do it. Besides the infections its 10-15 years down the road you have to worry about. The industry does a good job about keeping the stories of people losing their eyesight, off the radar.

Its a free world. Gamble with your vision. YNOT?

i had my operation done about 15 months ago - all fine - best thing i ever did

and they keep the eye from moving by sucking it out a little with by applying a light vacuum

all in all it was a piece of cake, the real operation took like 2 times 15-20 seconds per eye - in total i spent like 15-20 mins in the operation room

I know dozens of people that have had it, have never heard of any problems. Every single one of them has absolutely loved it. I only wish I could get it as well. I'm sure I could go to some shady place in Mexico, but I think I'll pass on that. ;-)

There are risks with any procedure. There are also risks sitting at your computer typing all day, serious risks actually. Are you going to stop?
