There's always a way to get out of any "painted into a corner" situation in a TV show. Just ask Jack Bauer or Walter White.

Season 4 is going to be shit.

Apparently they were getting criticised for this season but I thought it was great.

The dumbest part is that Carrie seems to be OK with what happened just a few months after the fact. And that the new head of the CIA offers her what he does. NO FUCKING WAY. DUMB AS SHIT.

But what is good on this show is the acting. The performance of the Iranian guy who is working working for the CIA is brilliant. You can just feel his stress. He is one amazing actor.

I feel bad for Saul. He has to spend his days now looking at the whore wife who cuckolded him.

The best part about this last season is we had to be subjected to less of his dumb family especially his dumb fucking wife and his ex best buddy who was fucking his whore wife.

Here is the absolute dumbest fucking part of season 3.

So we find out that Brody was not in fact involved in the CIA bombing. So the CIA finds this out and we find out that some wasp-ish D.C attorney who lobbys on behalf of the ICA knows Brody did not do it. Yet the Iranians somehow do not know this????????? Brody goes to Iran to ask for asylum and is treated like a celebrity there based on idea that he placed the bomb at the CIA headquarters. This is the dumbest of dumb inconsistencies and I guess the writers thought we were to dumb to notice this.

The best part of the show is the acting and the best part of the final show is that they showed the reality of the snakes who make it to the top of the CIA because the not only sold out their operative but also endangered the lives of one of their agents.

Oh and another silly part of the show.......that the President tells the CIA what to do. I am certain it is been several decades since the President gave the CIA orders.......if ever.

The writers still tried to find ways to shoehorn them into the story. The less of Dana and Jessica, the better -- but I'll bet those side plotlines are a necessary crutch for the writers to break up the main story into more manageable pieces.

Why not? Who could have imagined game of thrones after Ned Stark died? It will be all right.

It had to happen, there was no where left for the story line to go with the specific character you are referring to.

It did feel like the end of the show though, I don't know where the show goes from here.

For me this was just the logical end to the larger story. This entire season has been about the aftermath of the bombing. To be honest I thought the stuff with his daughter would end up going somewhere else, but I was okay with it because it showed us what effect this event had on the family.

As for Carrie being okay with everything at the end, she has always been one who eventually gets to the point where the ends justify the means. She clearly still has feelings for him and feels he was used and mistreated by the CIA, but she has suffered for the CIA as well so I can see why she is how she is now.

I am interested in seeing where they go with Season 4. Will it be a completely different story or will we follow Carrie to Turkey and her dealing with the Javadi and she finds something out that twists things around?

she was not ok with it, she just learned that getting irate about it wasn't going to work with the new guy..

At the very end of the show you see her drawing a star on the wall cause she felt he deserved to be on the wall but knew the powers above her would never allow it.

They should have killed Brody in episode 1 of this season and moved on. It was a terrible season with him in it

Really?

I think his character was fantastic.

Here is what I think will happen. Remember he talked about the doctor saying he was an unkillable cockroach? That was a hint and I don't think he's dead. Maybe they staged the hanging so Jevadi got his job (support or something to keep him from choking), who knows, but they never show the dead body. He told Carrie not to come, which I also thought was odd. They just showed him hanging for a brief time. They didn't drop hang him so his neck is not broken. He could have been dropped and still been alive at any time, but we never saw that. There also wasn't news of "American terrorist hung in Iran" which you KNOW would have made news if it happened.

I just can't imagine they will kill him off like that and expect to still have a season 4, which is already confirmed. Maybe they did, but season 3 was really lame for me until Brody came back into it. Check out the Homeland FB page, people are going ape shit over killing him off.

All of that said, "The Star" was an excellent title for the last episode. I didn't understand it until Carrie drew the star on the CIA wall. Well done.

I can't see it dude, the've done all they can with Brody's character. Plus that's how they actually hang people in Iran, it wasn't done that way just for the show.

If he mysteriously came back for season 4 I just can't think of a plausible plot that would work with him in it.

I also don't see how they will do it if he is alive, but these guys wrote 24, so anything is possible. That said, I hope is he alive. The part about the cockroach is what really makes me think he may not be dead. He's "unkillable." They didn't need to add that to the last episode, but they did, which is a bit odd. It wasn't needed.

To be honest, if Brody ends up being alive and that was all an elaborate ruse, I will be pretty disappointed in the show. I liked Brody as a character and I thought the actor that portrayed him did an amazing job, but it would just seem unrealistic that they planned it out this way and faked his death.

Oh right I didn't know it was the same writers, that's interesting!

Yeah perhaps, I thought it was mentioned to help reenforce the idea that he was getting rescued and that he would survive.

Ned Stark was not the main character. His death is the catalyst for the entire story that comes afterward --- and it's a lot of fucking story. People got all crazy after he died, but it's not like HBO thought that up at the last second.

Homeland is going for a reboot, kind of like Boardwalk Empire did. They cleaned the slate in the last season, and now the show barely takes place on the Boardwalk and half the characters are not around anymore.

Something big will happen to draw Saul back into the CIA, and there'll be a new actor with the same charisma as Brody, and he'll be just as interesting to watch. Or they could quit now and that last episode would be a good series finale.

Well, we do know Carrie is taking the post in Istanbul, so there is a new location. Saul will be back, no doubt about it. We can't lose Saul AND Brody at the same time. He'll get sucked back in somehow. Quinn... he'll be there probably but he can't carry the show. Going to take one hell of a character to replace Brody.

Brody is not is what is important. The important thing is for the show to continue for the demonization if Iranians in the minds of the average retarded USA citizen so that we do not protest when our tax dollars and young men and women are sacrificed to mass murder Iranian men, women, and children like we did in Iraq.

Ok that is all for today. Class dismissed.

Was not the main in the books, but was main in the first season. My point was that its much easier to imagine homeland without brody than game of thrones without Ned start (for those that did not read the books).

I'll just be happy if I never have to see Brody's annoying whiny daughter ever again. Also I never thought for a minute Brody would survive. The dead guy's wife put the noose around his neck... you can't really stage that probably and expect a good outcome. Also having Brody stay in it would be fucking stupid, he'd gone absolutely as far as he could go, there was nothing left except to retire him one way or the other. It was already getting stupid with his continual presence.

I took it this way... If they know enough to know Brody wasn't the bomber they know he was definitely a double agent that infiltrated the highest levels of government to kill the president. So he did A but not B, but B has tremendous propaganda value so just go with it. The US overlooks all kinds of shit in it's puppets so long as they fulfill the aims of the CIA. That's how I rationalised it anyways.

Ok that is all for today. Class dismissed.
Nice catch
