Push for lead free bullets? Here yah go!

To be honest, these are scary destructive.
And they are going to make shotgun rounds too?

You only carry these for protection, not for target practice. So that's not a bad price

Agreed, not a bad price. However, there is no way I would carry those for any reason.

I would get some just to shoot a watermelon and see what it does.

I still prefer hollow points for knock down power for protection.

No shit, wouldn't want to be the defendant in any justified shooting if those were used.

Yup. It's really hard to imagine someone who would use those isn't dieing to shoot someone. That's fucked up.

Just what law enforcement needs. Bullets that are going to kill you in the most brutal and horrific way. Imagine taking a gut shot from one of those.

But, they won't over-penetrate, killing someone in the next room, or house across the street. And what's the big deal about efficiently killing the person you decided to kill when you aimed and pulled the trigger?

One of the nice things about hollow point. When they hit someone, they stop. But I have seen cops shoot at the range, most can't shoot very well.

A person will die faster with these, so in essence these bullets are actually more humane.

If law enforcement is using lethal force against an individual, they have already earned the right to die.

This is the same reason I would never carry Hornady Z-Max ammo. Good luck defending yourself in court when the prosecution reads this:

"WARNING: THIS IS LIVE AMMUNITION. THIS IS NOT A TOY.

Disclaimer: Hornady® Zombie Max? ammunition is NOT a toy (IT IS LIVE AMMUNITION), but is intended only to be used on?ZOMBIES, also known as the living dead, undead, etc. No human being, plant, animal, vegetable or mineral should ever be shot with Hornady® Zombie Max? ammunition. Again, we repeat, Hornady® Zombie Max? ammunition is for use on ZOMBIES ONLY, and that?s not a nickname, phrase or cute way of referring to anybody, place or thing. When we say Zombies, we mean?ZOMBIES!"

IMHO, if you carry ANYTHING other than your local community standard in ammo, you're asking for trouble. What makes something the community standard? What do your local cops carry? Carry that and ONLY that.

Uh, there are numerous cases every year proving this wrong.

Very hard to stay pro-gun when I see statements like this time and time again?

I guess I am just not being realistic in thinking a cop might only shoot once in order to stop you, and there might be some chance you survive to live another day. These bullets are a death sentence handed out on the street.

Ok, make a video and share, I want to see what that does!!

Biggest I have is 69 caliber flint lock pistols, match sets my step father built as kits. They aren't even considered firearms any more. But damn, hit anything with it and body parts fly!

They will be made illegal within a month of release. They will never see military application either.

When I was in the Navy, I got to shoot a 1911a colt. Indoor shooting range and we went down to the targets to see the bullet's and saw some that were several inches long because of the jacket peeling off, scary bullet

numerous cases? come on, there are always exceptions, numerous times a year an idiot in a fast car kills someone too

if a perpetrator has a gun to your loved ones head, would you rather have law enforcement take him out with one of these rounds to the cranial vault (which = instant game over)

or would you prefer they shoot him in the leg with a FMJ Ball round?

BTW, They are trained to do the first. (USUALLY WITH SOME PRETTY BAD ASS HOLLOW POINT AMMO)

Imagine how many good people could be hit by shrapnel and it is a feeding nightmare.

If you live alone and you use it in a revolver...maybe.

Not for me.

For me, the only reason to shoot somebody is to change the course of their actions. In many cases, you do not need to kill them to accomplish this. In some cases, death is going to happen anyway but that doesn't mean that we should intentionally use ammo that increases the chance of death.

By selecting this ammo as your choice to carry ahead of time, the word "premeditated" will likely come into play should you ever find yourself pulling the trigger.

California is making it illegal to hunt with lead ammo, because any bullet laying around might get ate by a squirrel !

I'll bet they are better than a lead bullet.

Because they are machined, they probably are very well balanced

think about that

That video would have made a much greater impact had they shown the actual difference between a regular round, Hollow point, and their own.

It's basically all wild life, the ban doesn't go into effect for a few years

http://www.washingtonpost.com/nation...8ea_story.html

I don't hunt anymore, but even when I did I didn't use lead ammo with the exception of my handgun in case I was surprise by a bear. First round even then was a snake round, basically a small shotgun round.

They are playing to a targeted audience, they want people that already know what the damage is from a regular or hollow point is. They don't have to compare with this one!

I agree with AaronM using a gun is a way to change someones course of action.

But these are great. Instead of having a weapon where you could simply injure and scare some 15 year old kid fucking around on your property (not every self defense situation is against some giant, PCP crazed psycho killer-rapist) and then just hurt your 10 year old when his friend accidentally shoots him, these bullets can insure both die horrifically with no second chance.
