Anyone here use a folding or banquet table as a desk?

like this

or this

If you do do you like it?

I want to get a desk and I like this because I can just fold it up if company comes over, no assembly needed, and its nice and big.
but is it sturdy or awkward working on a big table like that?

They are plenty sturdy, I used one for years. What I dislike is the height in comparison to the average desk chair. The table sits too high and your wrists get sore, it's not proper at all. Keyboard trays exist for a reason I guess?

Proper desk here. Fold up tables are too wobbly.

Having adjustable leg height is the number one essential thing for a computer table, imho.

I... Use a desk. I work from home, but it's a professional grade HON desk. Two of them really. I also just went to order me a nice chair too.

I used to have a banquet table just like that and I have two complaints: 1) the metal braces under table came down too low and I always bumped my legs into them 2) it was not as stable as would have liked so my cup of coffee was always being spilled

I actually use two of them pressed into the corner to form a corner style desk. I had a nice corner desk for years, but it got broke when I moved. I had these two tables that I set up as a temp desk while I got another and I liked it enough that I just stuck with it.

The tables I have are heavy duty though. They weigh a ton and are very sturdy. To me it is better than my old desk. It is actually just as stable and I have more room for shit to pile up on

I do for my gaming station - I have the one in the first pic! My work station is a full desk.

I am not so sure. For me, having some kind of computer device to put on it is pretty essential also..........

My computer desk has a glass top, slide out keyboard and a shelf on each side, one for computer and one for router/subwoofer.

As long as the chair is adjustable that should be good right?
