Is anyone familiar with the Black Magic Pocket Cinema?
I bought this: http://www.amazon.com/Blackmagic-Poc...+cinema+camera
From the picture, it appears that it's good to go. But reading the text, it says that it does not come with a lens. Does this mean that I need to buy a lens in order to see anything at all? When I turn it on I just get a white screen, aside from the menus, etc. If I do need to buy a lens, any recommendations for something basic and good to run with? I don't want a large lens, something more compact be best.

I'm pretty new to this stuff so I had no idea that it would not come with even a stock basic lens.

I own one. You just get the camera body for $999.
You need a lens. I have adapters for the lenses I already have, so that might be your best option. This is not a good camera for "just taking videos". |

Take some alumininium foil and tape it over the sensor. With a pin make a small hole in the centre. Adjust the ASA rating until you have a good picture.
Should look like average porn quality shooting. |

What about this:
http://www.amazon.com/Fotasy-AMEA-Ad...KXY7F0Y74DD2DD One of the people asked specifically if it will work with the Black Magic and they were told yes. Do I need a special adapter as well?

Yeah, if you have Canon lenses from a DSLR that adapter will work. That IS the adapter, not a lens.
Anything MFT (micro 4/3) is what you're looking for. |

Here's an article with a few lens suggestions:
http://www.borrowlenses.com/blog/201...cinema-camera/ A few companies are selling bundles and these are the lenses that come in those packages: LUMIX G 14mm f/2.5 & 20mm f/1.7 |
