Safari on Mac slow. Any ideas?

Hi Mac Users :

Sometimes, the Safari browser is just dead slow. Loading up GFY on Chrome is instant, but takes 10 seconds on Safari to load, and sometimes does not even load at all even after resetting it. Any suggestions?

Obviously a troll thread. Apple products don't have such problems.

No, honestly not a troll thread. Just confused as to why it is suddenly so slow. My next step would be to delete all of the cookies and associated Safari data would want to do that only as a last step.

Wizzo: Yes I can use Chrome but prefer Safari...

On a serious note, I have read that the current version of Safari has issues such as this and the new upcoming version is supposed to address all of the issues. I don't have experience with it myself, but you do not seem to be the only one with these issues. Most of the people that I know with a Mac seem to use Chrome, which is turning into a piece of shit also.

It's all a lie. Apple software is perfect!
If it was windows the computer would randomly catch fire!
His nickname is obviously stolen, I bet his isp used a Windows router that leaked all his data..

might be corrupt network prefs:

back it up:
> cd /Library/Preferences && tar zcvf $HOME/sysConfigBackup.tgz ./SystemConfiguration

trash it:
> sudo rm -rf /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration

restart

Did you update Safari? I got the update yesterday. I've never had an issue (multiple Macs), but I've heard of other people experiencing what you describe.

When Safari is slow I use Chrome, when that starts fucking up, I use Firefox. But the Flash plugin seems to always crash on Chrome and Firefox. :-/

I see people with pcs riddled with malware and it boggles my mind. I think the last time I got any type of infection on a pc was with win98. (It was before windows had the built in firewall)

I think it's just because there are MORE Windows users. More of something means more chances to see the worst cases.

Got to tell you I use both, I have a macbook pro retina and a windows tower. The windows tower is more reliable and doesnt get hung up which happens at least once a week with the mac.

I just got a new laptop a few months ago. I'm not installing Flash this time around. OMG the web is awesome without flash. Best decision ever...

empty your cache, quit safari, then run disk utility. You should be fine. I also like to restart my computer after too... hope this helps.

I haven't used them since their last update and that was over 2 years ago. They gave up on that browser.
