:stop 60 day transfer lock on domain because I changed minor info?

So I changed some minor info (Just added my first name instead of full name as "organization" info, or something like that) and apparently this now warrants 60 days transfer lock?

Wtf is this shit? Is this icann or godaddy trying to rip customer off when they saw people are transferring after no renewal coupns?

Quote:
The transfer you requested has been declined because you opted-in to a transfer lock for 60 days when you agreed to the GoDaddy Change of Registrant policy.

For security reasons, when you change the registrant's first name, last name, or organization name, you consent to a 60 day lock on transferring the domain name. Because you have provided your consent, Section 3(6) of the ICANN Policy on Transfer of Registration between Registrars permits us to decline your transfer request.

http://www.icann.org/en/resources/re...cy-01jun12.htm

If you feel the lock was initiated in error, you may contact [email protected] to request a review.

Regards,
Domain Services
GoDaddy

GoDaddy has had this 60-day transfer restriction policy for years. It's purpose is to reduce domain theft, not prevent legitimate transfers.

There's a checkbox that you have to click when you change your WHOIS info. Don't bitch and complain because you didn't read the terms before clicking OK.

can't move it to another registrar but if ya did sell it you can still push it to another GoDaddy account before the 60 days is up.

Contact their support, sometimes they release domains before 60 days.

Never change info if you intend to change registrars

yea, have to be careful, don't edit anything if it expires within 2 months, pretty lame rule... don't really see how it's going to prevent any theft, since you can still easily change the registrant email?

I knew this was about NoDaddy even before I opened the thread. When will webmasters learn?

Funny when you get face slapped when trying to blindly hate:

So it is not a godaddy thing.

My apologies, didn't mean it to come out that way. And for the record, I'm not hating blindly, I'm just hating. I ditched them more than a decade ago, as soon as they pulled their first fast one on me.
