Who here watch WWE wrestling?
American seems to be very much interested in WWE and I never watch a wrestling match(if it can really be called a "match") where you don't find it jam packed with crowd(men, women and even children too) even on regular weekly programs.
So my question are you a WWE fan(or was a fan in past)? did you ever watch it live? how was your experience? |

I've heard people say it's weird live because there's no commentators talking shit all the way through it...

i loved watching it in the 80's when i was a kid. was pretty entertaining then. they make it more like a soap opera these days (way more so than it was), far too much talking and not enough wrestling so i can't really watch it now.
some of my favourites were, hogan (of course), brittish bulldogs, ricky the dragon steamboat. but looking back the heals where just as important along the way and were just as important. Tragic stories for almost all of them since then unfortunately...

Use to love watching Stone Cold and The Rock back in the day. Now it's just stupid.

I watch it once in a blue moon now. It is boring and predictable but the Dean ambrose character is interesting. Has The Joker mindset

The U.S. is of course a big market for pro wrestling (just like it is for all entertainment).
But the WWE sells out almost instantly when they tour Europe. Also Japan has been one of the biggest proponents of pro wrestling for over 50 years. WWE can't even break into that market because the pro wrestling companies there are too big in Japan. Puerto Rico and Mexico have similar HUGE pro wrestling fan bases with their own companies that are so successful that WWE can't really make inroads into their "territory". Add Canada to that as well (Brett Hart and the Hart family are considered legit national sports heroes there). |
