I've been trying to watch this movie for 2 hours. They're servers are SLAMMED.

If you're crippling Youtube, you have giant traffic generation.

I would bet that this movie is the hottest ticket in every American home tonight. The buzz is deep on this thing being released.

Not only that, but do you think for one second NK isn't hammering the shit out of Youtube?

The Interview

SYNOPSIS: Stupid

CRITICISM:

If someone is of limited intelligence or their idea fun is a night of exchanging quips on Reddit and 4chan then this movie is perfect for them. But for everyone else I recommend finding a copy of an old film called "Ishtar" instead. Because root canal done by a chimp without use of anesthetic would be less painful than to sit through this film.

CONCLUSION:

The Sony hack is a publicity stunt. Because without it the movie would go down in history as making Ashton Kutcher's performance in "Dude where's my car" look like a work of Shakespeare by comparison

+1. I'm all about paying for goods and services, especially in the arts. But rule number 1 in commerce is: make it as easy as possible for the consumer to pay you. Rule number 2 should be: make it available, like right away. Finally HBO is going to start selling their programming to non-cable/satellite subscribers for a fee. I'm all in. Right now, if I want to watch the final season of Boardwalk Empire (which I really want to do), from where I am in Malaysia, I believe the only options I have is to wait for the season to become available sometime next year or to get a pirated version, which is very easy and cheap to do.

In some cases it is about them being morons. In others it is about them having specific distribution contracts with those regions. If they were to violate the contract and release it in that region online they could get their asses sued.

Fair point. But in either instance one can't blame the people in those regions for resorting pirate sources. Piracy sucks, but shit like this tends to legitimize it on occasion.
