Sad News - Patrick Macnee has died.

Actor Patrick Macnee, star of The Avengers TV series, has died in California at the age of 93.
The Briton, best known for playing John Steed in the 1960s television spy series, died at home with his family at his bedside, his son Rupert said.
Macnee also played roles in theatre, appearing on Broadway, and served in the Royal Navy during World War Two.
A statement on the actor's website read: "Wherever he went, he left behind a trove of memories."
He died peacefully at his home in California's Rancho Mirage on Thursday, Rupert said.

Why do people always say it is "sad" when someone has lived an amazing life...full of accomplishments...loved to well beyond the average lifespan and dies not of a horrible disease but rather simple natural old age?

"He dies peacefully at his home..."

Seems to me more like a cause for celebration really. Why do we fear death so much when it is simply part of the life cycle.

Because no matter how long you live...it will all seem like a blink of an eye to you at the end.
I know that time has flow in my life. And seems to be accelerating. lol

I don't care if I die now or at 90...I'm still not going to WANT to die.

Death is part of the lifecycle for the living, that's the point.

He's dead, so now living organisms will consume his body and what not.

When you're dead, that's the end of your lifecycle, people who want to stay alive, fear that end.

Why is it sad that someone lived to be 93?
