Who is better Manning or Brady?
Near the start of the 4th quarter of tonights game - Brady had triple the yards and passer rating - although Manning made up some ground late.
Not a Pats fan but Brady crushed Manning tonight - if not for all the early turnovers this game would have been very lopsided. Great game though

How do you lose? You face an opponent like Tom Brady - his clutch drives and will to win has always just been better than Manning.
Fun to see two of the all time greats go toe to toe though. DEN C/ATT YDS AVG TD INT Manning 19/36 150 4.2 2 1 NE C/ATT YDS AVG TD INT Brady 34/50 344 6.9 3 0

The other team throws the ball 50 times and scores 4 TDs. Belichick's game plan was to take away what Denver does best, Peyton Manning passing, allowed Denver to run. And as is usual, Belichick wins.
He's the best coach in all pro sports. Belichick could have taken any number of QB's and had the same success as he's had with Brady. Not saying Brady isn't very good, but the Patriots success has much more to do with Belichick than Brady.

They have both been Hall of Fame players and both excelled at different times. Brady has had the better supporting cast over the years and I think Manning has more talent. But can you go wrong with either guy leading your team...

I think they are both great. It is hard to say which is better. Manning might be the more accurate pure passer, but they both are fantastic quarterbacks (and it pains me to say that because I hate the Pats).
With football it is all about your supporting cast and over the years Brady has just had a better one. Had Manning had the defense that Brady did he likely would have more than one Super Bowl ring as well. |

Even the New England Patriots captains thought Bill Belichick’s decision to take the wind instead of the ball in overtime was ridiculous. After New England’s crazy overtime win, Logan Mankins told Comcast SportsNet Live that he and the other captains were confused by Belichick’s decision to kick off to Peyton Manning in order for New England to have the wind at their backs. “We all looked at each like he was crazy — then we all asked again and again and again. And we just wanted to make sure we were doing exactly what he wanted.” Belichick’s overtime gamble came 11 years to the day that Detroit Lions coach Marty Mornhinweg declined the opening kickoff in overtime to play to the wind. Mornhinweg became a national laughingstock and lost his job two monts later. Obviously, Belichick had more going for decision than Mornhinweg. He’s in no danger of losing his job, his decision was more “mad genius” than “foolish” and an opening field goal by Denver would have still allowed New England to possess the ball. Belichick’s only gamble was that the Broncos wouldn’t score a touchdown. He won the bet. But was it the smart one? Unlike his fourth-and-2 gamble gamble against Manning three years ago, the overtime gambit was a risk that appeared to ignore who was lining up under center. Fourth-and-2 respected the fact that Manning with a long field was just as dangerous as Manning with a short one. Kicking off failed to respect Manning’s ability to march Denver down the field for the game-winning touchdown. The wind hadn’t been as big a factor on Sunday as it was in that Mornhinweg game — both teams were able to move the ball with the wind at their faces. Had the Broncos scored, Belichick would have been justifiably roasted for the call. The risk outweighed the reward. None of it matters now, of course. The Pats stopped Denver and went on to win the game a few possessions later. “It was a great call because we won,” Rob Gronkowski told WEEI after the game. http://ftw.usatoday.com/2013/11/bill...riots-broncos/

It was a tie game with 2 minutes left and special teams blew it. Stats don't mean much it is who wins the game and if that ball did not hit him in the leg it probably would have been a tie game or maybe Denver winning by 3

broncos were averaging 7 yards per carry running the ball going into the ot, so their ot strategy is to have manning throw long. makes sense.
oh, and tom brady is the better qb. |

basically they wanted to get rid of the coin toss playing such a big role - so you cant just get the coin toss then win with a field goal - which was really lame - now you have to score a TD to win (on the first possession) OR a field goal by either team will win (once both teams have possessed the ball)

who got fined for getting caught cheating eh....
![]() ![]() here's a question- you get to put together your dream superbowl team to compete for 1 bazillion dollars. it's all or nothing, 1 shot, must win, no do-overs. do you pick manning or brady? you gotta pick brady! as hard a decision as that is, he's proven to win superbowls, that's what, imo, makes him the better qb. it's all about that trophy. |

Denver had three huge factors working against them last night, weather, injuries, and they were being coached by their defensive coordinator. Even with all that they still almost pulled it out. Take away any one of those factors and Denver wins. |

The same could be said for the Denver turnovers, without the 4 Denver turnovers it would have been a blowout. And don't even get me started on fouls that werent called, one in which gave NE a touchdown.

There are so many variables that go into a game that are beyond the control of the QB. Let me ask you this: Would you say Trent Dilfer is a better quarterback than Dan Marino? If Super Bowl wins is the only stat that matter then you would have to say yes. |

If you measured it by Superbowl rings, then Brady would be better.
But I'd call them even, because Brady had a lot of help from an awesome O Line and great defense. I'm talking about their great run a few years ago. When Manning was good, it was mostly because he did the heavy lifting, and he has an ability to read defenses and make changes before the snap that is second to none.

yes, he doesn't have the playoff stats, but he wasn't playing with the Patriots. Tony Dungy is no Bill Belichick.
