Saw Black Mass last night, not bad. But the preview for a movie about the Kray brothers looked great.

Watching Narco on Netflix...got through three episodes so far. It's decent, seems like more of a documentary than a series though. I watched 'Vacation" Friday night, I thought it was fucking hilarious. The people I went with were split. The last movie I saw in a theater prior to that was 'San Andreas'. It was pretty good. Not going to win any Oscars, but The Rock's full white daughter was pretty fucking hot and some A+ natural ta-tas.

Watched Mad Mad Fury Road.

Big on action...not so much on plot. Drivin' a tanker of gas across the desert - gee, where'd I see that before? Oh yeah...The Road Warrior.

I know it's been out for 7 years, but I just watched Trick 'R' Treat. Pretty good movie.

Saw It Follows recently. Didn't like it. Perhaps the hype was too strong and I was expecting too much. I thought the concept was great, but how they fleshed it out into a story was dumb and predicable. In fact, my 14 year old was calling out what was going to happen before it did.

I've watched Jurassic World, Avengers: age of ultron, Insurgent, and interstellar.

-Jurassic world disapointed me, i did not expect it to be so bad and nonsense in same time.

-Avengers were okay, however i would had loved more scenes with scarlet johansson's bum

-Insurgent is total pile of crap, a movie for teens, like twilight.

-interstellar, was really good, best movie i've seen so far this year.

Gravity, Interstellar, Whiplash, The Imitation Game, Fury, were good. Nothing was great.

How many films can you remember the plot of after a few months. More than "Good guys fight bad guys and win". That seems to be the plot of too many, throw in some digital technology, 3D, get a couple of stars, package and put it out.

Yup, me too. Just finished watching the first (and only) season.
I am sure you will like it, and yes, you are right. It does look like a docu, but keep watching and you will have a different opinion.

Btw, I saw When Harry Met Sally :D Quite good! Not a new movie, but if you haven't seen it, then it doesn't matter

Oh yeah, check this one too, very interesting and refreshing since it is not in English - Force Majeure

Also, Woman in Gold.

There are many good films lately, if you ask me.

Cheers.

I was behind on catching some movies but recently I really liked

Predestination - cool concept suppose it explains time travel paradox better than Interstellars

Whiplash - I honestly waited forever to see this, thinking it was not my style. I was so wrong simply one of the best I have seen in quite some time.

NightCrawler - gyllenhaal's best performance ever imo. Best original movie plot I have seen in a few years. Cool concept dark and exciting.

Am I the only one that thought the second Avengers movie was awful?

Actually I'm going to go back and watch it again because I hated it so much I don't think I gave it a fair shake. Just seemed like endless CG robots flying around the screen.

I'm not the type to hate on successful movies for no reason, but this just seemed like crap.

I really enjoyed Mad Max, so it's not like I don't like mindless action movies. These Marvels turds just seem like the same old rehashed crap. I haven't really enjoyed one since Iron Man.

The first is one of my absolute favorite movies.

The second I saw in IMAX 3-D. I like everything in IMAX 3-D, except that. Too many mini storylines that served no purpose (the romance between the doc and Blackwidow, too much family love between the twins, etc.) They could cut out a good 30 minutes of the movie and then it might be a quality watch. As is, there is way too much fluff and unneeded material.

I agree, but I wouldn't say awful. Not nearly as good as the first one, and I didn't think the first one was all that amazing.

My complaint is the writer's inability to put forth an actual villain worth watching. The end credits of the first Avengers got everyone amped for the second, but it didn't have shit to do with anything. You have people with superhuman powers, deities from other worlds, and the only villain you can come up with is an AI robot? As if that topic hasn't been beaten to death already. The Marvel Universe is chalk full of awesome bad guys, use CGI to bring some of them to life. At least the Spider-man series had bad guys worth rooting for.

Master and Commander.

It's the only swashbucker-on-the-high-seas, Royal Navy square-rigger, movie I've ever seen that is actually interesting. In fact, it's a very, very cool movie - it's been on cable during the last moth.

Saw Predestination recently. Loved it. Really, really good.

Watched Triangle Triangle (2009) - IMDb again. Also really, really good, and a great mindfuck too.

Just read it is considered "one of best top 20 mindfuck movies" by Digital Spy.

In the theater: Sicario
definitely recommend even tho it's tanking at the box office
unless the studio hasn't given it the full release yet

DVD (because it's not available to stream)
La Isla Minima
a/k/a Marshland

a serial murder / police procedural that takes place in Andalusia, Spain
definitely recommend this movie too (80% on the tomato meter)
