For those who still make sales and want to do something...
One thing I have noticed is that the people making sales on sites are limited. But there are still those out there...
So this is what I'd like to do: I want to control fraud better. Friendly fraud and affiliate fraud. My idea is to create a hub location for strictly those in the industry making sales and have a problem with individuals charging back multiple times to multiple sites. The reasons are usually the affiliate doing it, the cardholder doing it because they were tricked, or the cardholder had his card stolen. In the case of the affiliate doing it... I would like a real time database of chargebacks where merchants can share information to see if similarities. In the case the cardholder doing it... I would like a real time database of charbebacks where merchants can share information to see if similarities. At some point the cardholder must be responsible for his actions. If cardholder had his card stolen... I would like to create in real time a database of all known aliases of the affiliates using the card and hopefully catch a few. See... I think if we can work together in something, we could actually make things happen for the better. I was sent 4 chargebacks the other day, accompanying those chargebacks was a list accidentally sent to me by the issuing bank that showed the guy charged back 35 times. I researched it further and realized the guy only charged back the rebilling charges, never the initial. So what he did was collect all of the PPS on initial sale (trial join), waited about 2 months and then charged every single rebill amount back claiming fraud. I want to setup a real time, live, monitoring system so we can fucking nail these fucks to the wall as soon as it happens. Anyone with me or dumb idea? Friendly fraud as the guy legitimately forget is a different category. If too many of those then we go after him as well with the next friendly fraud. To me... seems like a winner. It's not that hard either. |
