MSNBC Vs Fox News

i am currently in Siesta Key on vacation and have been watching both MSNBC and Fox News. I cannot believe how one sided each are. I knew Fox leaned to the right and MSNBC to the left but shit I did not realize how ridiculous it is to watch.

Yep it's bad.

They both have real news anchors and real reporting. But both stations have incredibly one-sided opinion shows that take up most of their air time.

To me, the difference between them is that Hannity openly says he has a conservative bias.

On the other hand...I saw Rachel Maddow on "Real Time With Bill Maher" and one of the guests told her that her show is biased to the left.
OMG! She went off on him and told him that she was NOT biased at all. And of course Bill Maher and the audience all gave her a huge ovation at how unbiased she is. lol

Bottom line, MSNBC can and does deliver the real news. So does Fox News.
Both channels spend 23 out of 24 hours airing their biased opinion shows for entertainment purposes.

It's best that people can see that and not mistake those opinion shows for the news.
Unfortunately...many Fox viewers think Hannity is a legit reporter, even though he openly says on his show that he is not.
And many MSNBC viewers swear that Rachel Maddow is a legit reporter, and she thinks so too.

Yes I understand. Up in Canada there is pretty much 3 main parties. Anyhow as I said it was just comical to watch. Not saying we don't have networks that lean a certain way because we do but it's not as obvious.

I do not watch MSNBC or FOX. I watch CNN, but I try to stay away from political news on TV.

I do watch FOX every now and then but only for entertainment. This was during the Ebola crisis. It was hilarious. They were saying "Obama isn't doing enough to contain Ebola". In the end Ebola never broke out in the US. Seems FOX news was very wrong.

FOX news is that just amazing that everything that is wrong in the world is blamed on Obama.

That is the thing with those leftards - they think that their opinion is "normal" aka "middle" etc.
They are too stupid to realize otherwise. No surprise because no smart person would be leftard (promoting lowest common denominator and "everybody is equal" instead of valuing that each person is different and gets what he deserves).

i like that fox news only hires babes to be onscreen. MSNBC has an ugly quota, presumably to appear to be smart or not sexist or something.

They both openly have commentary people. Fox is a little bit more honest about what they deliver. msnbc still thinks it portrays the opinion of all people.

Our regular news out here in the SF Bay Area is very left wing with the exception of how they treat the Military because they don't want to lose many of their viewers. It's just all a show.

I was just in Tahiti a couple weeks ago and thought the exact same thing. I consider myself a fairly liberal person but watching MSNBC International had me shaking my head in disbelief. That #leanforward shit is a joke. No wonder liberals get such a bad wrap.

do you want pretty mainstream news and some interesting side stories and no gotcha shit. NPR, now don't listen to what pundits tell you. Turn it on today when you work and think for yourself. The main news of the day starts here at 4pm est.

Also, I think brains are sexy. I love smart chicks. And Megan Kelly is so damn ugly on the inside that she bleeds it through her eyes. I'd prefer Rachel any day.

They are both equally shit, but one is the only Chanel 99% of all consertives watch. when you wonder how the right has become so clinically insane, just point to Fox News and see what they broadcast 24/7. Then turn on the right wing radio networks and they are even more extreme than Fox News..

Then when you hear The current Republican candidate of the month saying ridiculous stuff, or wonder how the fuck Sara Palin was a Vice President contender.. Well there is the answer...these people are brainwashed with that non sense.

Fox doesn't broadcast that crap "24/7".

They have their stupid opinion shows just like MSNBC and both networks broadcast those in the evening.

You can find the "real" news on FNC and MSNBC during the daytime. But the primetime hours of both networks are a joke.

Cool that you love Rachel Maddow. I think she's smart too. Extremely biased to the left...but smart.

Doesn't mean that Megan Kelly is dumb or uneducated.

She's an attorney who earned her J.D. (juris doctor) at Albany Law School (the oldest independent law school in the United States).
She also pursued an undergraduate degree at Syracuse in political science.

Neither woman is a genius...but both are very well educated and smart.

One of them espouses the Democrat party line. The other one is super Republican.
To me, they are just 2 women earning paychecks by trying to tell people what to think.

I prefer to use my own brain for that. But I do admire both ladies.

Here is a perfect summary of the depths to which the level of political discourse has sunk in recent times:

No doubt these guys are part of the new "progressive" intelligentsia and huge fans of MSNBC and the like.

I don't watch any 24/7 news Chanel as I gave up cable 3 or 4 years ago.. However it's often common to see either Fox News or CNN at places like McDonnalds. I can't think of any time I've ever seen "real news" shows on either of these Chanel's. I can't say much for MSNBC as I've rarely ever seen it.

Pretty much anytime I've ever seen any of these 24/7 "news" stations, it's always been talking heads pushing this slanted agenda or that. I wouldn't call any of them "informative or news" but rather opinion talk shows focused on politics.. its entertainment TV nothing more and it rots the brains of people whom watch it daily.

If you want news, then you watch the 30 min nightly news broadcast which any of the major studios broadcast.. While they might have some slant.as to what they cover, usually they are decent sources, be it CBS, abc, nbc ect.. The 24:7 networks are not news, they are opinionated entertainment TV.

Very true.

But let me ask you this...what IF the country went all religious nutcase. And the majority voted in a super religious President and Congress.
Then a couple of more Supreme Court justices get put in that are religious insane fools.

In the scenario the MAJORITY would then vote to make abortion illegal.

Would you then be for "freedom and democracy"? Or would you be exactly like the conservatives you hate and only claim it until the majority votes against YOU?

I would move out of the country, because it would be very clear that my ideals were not inline with my country's, therefore I'd move somewhere more inline with my thinking..

Of course this would only be as if it was a "clear" majority and not say 55/45. Example, I wouldn't expect to live a very good life in a place like Pakistan as a "non-believer". Therefore I wouldn't try to fight the will of a clear majority, I would go where there was a more clear acceptance.

Luckily most Westren countries have shed themselves of Relgious rule. It's just a shame so many in this country keep trying to put it back in place. Perhaps they would be better suited to move to a place like Pakistan where Relgious rule is accepted rather than trying to oppress others in places it's not.

There is one thing which has always held true with Christans and Muslims alike. If you give them an inch, they try to take a mile. The problem with these Relgious types is if you don't keep the radicals at bay, they become the new norm.

This is what you see with Islam and their current radical revolution. If Christains could get away with the same, they would be doing it as well.. Never kid yourself, they have done the same in the past and if radicals were left unchecked in this country they would do the same over time.

Even the Jews have radicals running amok in Isreal. The to the uses the Radiacls to take over new areas and claim them as Jewish.. They move in and start terror using the locals with govt troops at their backing.. Of course you never hear about that..
