I would rather see Bernie in a senate leadership role (this will never happen). Bernie is too old for the rigors of the presidency. If he was 50 or 60 he might be the candidate to beat.

I have a problem with both Trump and Bernie: They are expressing ideas that appeal to the 'disaffected' voter. Neither one has presented any new idea. Just saying we can be as before doesn't cut it with me They are just trying to appeal to the ''populist'' theme and I don't see either presenting a platform for the future in a new or innovate way. Status quo disruption is not innovation and a road to a better future -- that is for the angry voting block.

Disclaimer: The rest of the candidates (Democrat and Republican) are collective 'door knobs'.

I can't believe I'm saying this...but yes she is right. Bernie Sanders obviously cares.

Hilary is a shill and phony.

I don't see it quite like that.
I'm not hearing them say "make things like it was before".
Making the country great again isn't about doing things like we did in the past.

It's about NOT doing things like we did in the past. You gotta admit that since the end of WW2 our federal govt. has taken a path that has ultimately led to 18 trillion dollars in debt, war after war, spying on our own citizens, being searched like criminals, and a stupid "war on drugs" that has ruined millions of lives.

To me Trump and Sanders represent a NEW way of doing things. The old way isn't working for the citizens of this country. It only engenders crony capitalism and power consolidation amongst bureaucrats.

I don't personally believe the Trump or Sanders is "the guy". But the feeling they are tapping into isn't just angry white men as I've read you say in other posts.

Women don't like the way our country is being run either. Neither do black people. Or Hispanics.
People aren't monolithic thinkers depending on race or gender.

My hope is that Trump and Sanders will scare the shit out of their respective party's and at the very least get people to force change in what is happening in that little Washington D.C. bubble those politicians all live in.

Plus it's funny to watch the analysts and supposed "experts" on television as well as the insulated career/lifetime bureaucrats completely befuddled because their usual bullshit isn't working with Trump.

Especially Charles Krauthammer. He's declared Trump dead in the water since before Trump even got in the race. And declared Trump's candidacy "over" at the announcement, at the McCain comment, at the debate the other night, and now with the Megyn Kelly flap.
And he's not only been wrong about Trump's candidacy being over...Trump has gotten stronger each time. LOL!

And Krauthammer and the rest of them are so insulated from the American people and real life...that they are honestly shocked.

That alone is priceless

Sanders has two major problems.

1. He looks kine of like someone's grandpa. I know it should matter, but it does. A lot of people simply won't vote for him because of that.

2. He is a self described democratic socialist. Many people hear the world socialist and freak out. I actually think he has some good ideas, and I think the democratic base would get behind him, but I'm not sure how many moderate, middle class people would vote for him after a lifetime of being told how terrible socialism is (even though we already have a good deal of socialism in this country, some of which they like agree with).

he also thinks there are too many immigrants legally and illegally coming into the country.

...
That is because he is -- he is 73 years old -- too old to stand up to the rigors of being POTUS.

His 3rd problem is he is an independent -- the unDemocrat. He, like Trump, does not have the support or blessing of the respective party banners they have chosen to run under -- and why they will never be nominated.

Bernie is a sincere man in his platform and has a strong populist following. 28,000 people showed up at his rally today in Portland, OR. He will (hopefully) help shape the Democratic Party's platform and stop Hillary's wishy washy feel good campaign platform this election. BTW, Hillary IMHO it too old for the job too ... We really need a 45 to 55 year old POTUS, man or woman -- I am not that concerned. Other than the Trumpism: she might be on the rag or having hot flashes A male would be a safer choice that considered.

Bernie should trade off his delegates at the convention for some progressive party platform changes and a cabinet czar appointment or the vice presidential spot with some hereto unknown male 45 - 55 year old third ballot candidate -- but that is wishful thinking and a long shot.

Most interestingly, Bernie has attracted seniors as well as millennials and support from those in between in spite of his advanced age -- a refreshing phenomena even if you disagree with his core platform.

He's one year older than Mick Jagger. Here is a video of The Rolling Stones in concert just last month. Poor old Mick can barely get around with his wheelchair:
