I actually think it's a good idea. This isn't for your sons $90 star wars toy drone that can fly 200 feet. This is for the drones that can fly a mile or more away from the person flying it

You don't need to register your bicycle but you do have to register your motorcycle that is anything over 50CCs.

Model airplanes have been around for years and never posed the threat that these do, why? Mainly because a model airplane you have to be able to see it with your own eyes to control it. Drones have cameras and can go far away. The article said they thought there would be 700,000 drones sold in 2015. That's insane.

guns are supposed to be registered, go try and buy one. The only loophole is that damn gunshow where you can walk in and hand cash and buy a gun. I doubt it's about how high it can go but it can go that far from the person controlling it according to wally world.. But the law says you can't fly over 400ft and i'm sure that can

The problem with selling your hangun (or any other weapon) 'under the table' like that is that the firearm is still registered in your name. If that weapon is involved in a crime whose door will the police be at first?

Someone here in town got a serious drone that flew up and took some great pictures of the area that looked like they were from an airplane. However, they forgot all about our little local airport and got into huge trouble last week.

yup we have one of those small airports and 5 miles is a very big range

My neighborhood almost burned down last year because asshats were using their drones to cash in on fire pictures. They wouldn't let the water dropping helicopters do their jobs

When I heard they had to stop waterdrop planes during one of the westcoast fires because of all the drones flying in the area, I figured it wouldn't be long before gov't starts to crack down and make them registered.

All it takes is a few irresponsible idiots to ruin it for everyone.
