it some situations it might make sense, what if OP had a business and needed to scale it up... then for example the other guy invested $100k, wouldn't it make sense for the other guy to have control over that $100k, hence access joint bank account?

I will post his name shortly if he does not come through, I will be very surprised if he does. Lesson learned : Never do business with desperate, broke substance abusers. They will screw you in the end for their short term gain.
