If you were doing media buying, is buying 250x250 banners a good choice, or banners have to be 300x250 px?

in truth, a selection of all sizes are worth while, but i'd personally prefer 250x250

300x250 will yield much higher volume of traffic. No right or wrong answer here on what you should do. Test both, let the ROI tell you what performed better for you and scale it up.

In the eyes of the surfer, the ad sizes 250 x 250 or 250 x 300 are exactly the same.

If you can save money, but the 250 x 250 banner spots.

Content is what drives surfers to your sites, not the tiny difference between those 2 banner sizes.

as a regular online user myself i never really notice banner size but the gif and what is in the ad.

300x250 is an IAB standard ad size, 250x250 is not

If you don't know what that is, then it's time to up your game

Start here: Universal Ad Package (UAP)

If you're making your own ads for your own sites you can do what you want

If you want to more effectively work with ad networks and pro operators, stick with standards
