It's funny because I applauded them a couple months ago about how well they were keeping the promotions to a minimum. Leak out a teaser every now and then, and let social media work it's magic. I figure they learned their lesson from over-hyping Episode I. But now you're right, it's everywhere. Seems like a lot of wasted money on needless marketing. And now they're turning people off...that's no good.

But I'm still going.

I'm going in IMAX, otherwise I most likely wouldn't. Star Wars is okay but the new Star Trek movies are so much better, and I have never been a Star Trek fan.

On a side note, I don't think it's Disney and the producers doing a majority of the promoting. I think it's all the promotion partners they have to help offset the cost of the film. With so many promotional partners pimping their shit, it's hard to avoid it being anywhere and everywhere.

I've watched some of the trailers but.... I haven't read much about it. So I have no idea where this is going to go which is perfect for me.

I have tickets for opening day. I'm there.

You realize the new Star Wars movie is made by the guy who did the new Star Trek movies?

I have tickets to see it three time in the first two days. IMAX, IMAX 3D and a regular showing with my kids.

I haven't seen anything on it but a Star bucks commercial. This has to be the worst written sequels in the history of the world. I gave up on it a long time ago, and I was a huge fan.

Nice! I tried for opening day but they were sold out. I see Star Wars the next day (Dec 18th).

Here in Montreal they are also having a Star Wars Marathon. All 6 movies in IMAX, starting with the first one / Episode 5. Here's what sucks about it : It's $60.00 a ticket, the first movie is at 4AM, and it's already sold out. Fuck.

Why exactly?

Nobody has seen the new Star Wars. I was commenting on all of the other Star Wars. Did not realize the new one was by JJ Abrams, but even now knowing that, it doesn't change my opinion of the other 6.
