Trump is right

We should block Muslims from coming in the country till the government can better screen them. They just caught two of the terrorist that were involved in the Paris shooting in a refugee shelter!

ok - then terrorists just won't claim muslim as their religion when trying to come here. what's stopping them? refugees typically have very little paperwork to back up who they claim to be.

I found this statement alarming regarding a missed opportunity to arrest one of the original attackers:
Quote:
However, police could not raid the building until the morning of 16 November due to laws banning such searches between 21:00 and 05:00, Mr Geens was quoted as saying by Dutch language daily Het Laatste Nieuws.

Stop being sensible, it has no place in a thread about Trump.

Take into account they raided 3 Mosques in Paris and shut them down when they found a stash of guns and explosives

So expand it, or do you think we are safe from the San Bernardino attack happening again?

I do know that Muslims are allowed to lie to westerners about if they're Muslim, but something has to be done, just letting them in our country is madness.

Make them eat Bacon, if they refuse, well?

well thats why its called terrorism because its very hard to protect from it completely. any person can commit a horrible act of violence at any given time to anyone. its part of the risk of living in a 'free society'.

The point is about stopping as many of them as possible, not all of them, which is not possible.

isis make ideological work among Muslim US(eu,ru... etc) citizens.
trump help for isis make recruiting new shahid(martyrs for islam) or jihadists.
it is not effective to make such provocative statements.

You should be more worried about being shot by a red neck than a Muslim. Stop living in fear and get on with your life.

if people join or sympathize with isis because of what some people say or think about muslims then they were already 99% there anyways. that is not a normal reaction for someone who isn't already crazy/stupid/just looking for an excuse..

I never hear much about mass shootings taking place where "rednecks" live (the South).
Always seem to be taking place in more "liberal" states.

don't you brag about your association with organized crime syndicates like the hells angels?

maybe the government should spend more time and resources on the real threats within their midst, like you and your associates.

Wasn't referring to mass shootings. However now that you mention it yes add that to the equation and your chance of being shot by an American far out weights your chance of being shot by a Muslim terrorist.

You got that right.
Which is why I don't know of anyone who is in "fear" of that. Do you?
I think politicians (including Hillary who gave a speech a day ago saying that she "understands our fear") and the media keep saying we are all in "fear"...and the President just said we shouldn't "give in to our fear", but reality is...nobody is really scared.

Makes for good ratings for the news channels I suppose.

That story doesn't explain itself.

When did the "mass shooting" take place in Georgia? Or Alabama? Or South Carolina?
Are they counting "mass shootings" that may have taken place in the 1800's? WTF?

Religious fanatics are not normal people. suicide bombers too...
but motivation for action such people can be after psychological trauma, such as a scandal at work such as in san Bernardino. Trump expressed this to the whole world, I think his speechwriters made a mistake.

Okay found it...it was just the other day in Georgia. Not really a "mass shooting" but still pretty bad:

And here's the Alabama one from 2009:
At least 10 dead in two-town Alabama shooting spree - CNN.com

I wish those stories would explain themselves like this instead of just saying something like "only 5 states spared of mass shooting".

actually they seemed to be "regular people" who were recruited into radical islam. a few years before the paris attacks they weren't even "active" muslims. they were drinking and partying, having sex, etc. they seem to target young people who are confused about their identity and have nothing much going for them.

100 million guns sold during the Obama gun era, gun sales have tripled in the last few years with PLENTY of democrat households polling as owning guns.

I think politicians (including Hillary who gave a speech a day ago saying that she "understands our fear") and the media keep saying we are all in "fear"...and the President just said we shouldn't "give in to our fear", but reality is...nobody is really scared.

Makes for good ratings for the news channels I suppose.
I think right now, afraid of ordinary peaceful Muslims

I actually have seen 1 dude in fear of the terrorist. It was on the boardwalk at Venice Beach and he was loudly talking to himself about terrorists in black helicopters while he paced back and forth

I read an article yesterday that said you are a thousand times more likely to be shot by accident by a toddler than you are to be killed in a terrorist attack.

A Guide to Mass Shootings in America | Mother Jones

Gun owners don't get worried. So long as the NRA own your politicians, nothing will change.

Only five states spared from spate of shooting sprees in the US, tracking website says

Hawaii, New Hampshire, North Dakota, West Virginia and Wyoming alone were spared such macabre fate.
Some where along the line we have lowered the bar of news reporting while making it oh so much easier to find information. Clearly someone didn't fact check anything...

Just re-read the article... I didn't see this was only "this month" since December 2nd, 2015. So... Opps.

But this brings up a valid point that kills me... Trump and all of the Republicans are making such a big deal about Muslims entering the country, yet hundreds of people have died from mass shootings in the past two weeks. Clearly arming the population hasn't changed a thing - Millions of firearms floating around in the public and yet still hundreds of people get shot and killed every month.

Got it.

By the way...what's the criteria for a "mass shooting"? More than 2 people?
Some of those "mass shootings" don't seem very "mass".

I'm not trying to be flippant about it. But when I think of "mass shooting", I'm thinking that at least 7 or 8 people were shot.
Looks like that site has put the number at "4" to be proclaimed as a "mass shooting".

Is that pretty much the agreed on number? And if so, should it be called a "mass shooting"?

I love how people will spend countless hours defending the 2nd amendment in post after post, then turn around and take a giant piss on the first.

Apparently to conservatives the Constitution is similar to the Bible. Just pick and choose the parts that fit your views.

it's weird that markham thinks Americans need a guns fatality powerpoint presentation.

it's weird because i go through life 24/7/365 in the USA without 1 single fuck given about getting killed by a gun, regardless of a map. and so does every American I know.
